S14 Door Lock Problem

I've searched and haven't found the same problem.

95 SE, doesn't use the factory alarm anymore, or any alarm for that matter. Drivers side door the lock doesn't seem to have any tension. SOOOO if you close the door it has a tendency to swing itself locked. Wouldn't always be a bad thing but I tend to leave my keys in the car at work and between the wife and I we have locked the keys in it a few times now.

Any ideas or past experiences with the problem are appreciated.

Thanks
Phil

Have you pulled the panel off and taken a look at anything yet.

yeah. I've had the door panel off and everything looks ok. Almost seems like a spring is missing to keep tension on the door lock mechanism
