salvage title zenki worth getting?
Should I take a chance with this one? The Guy told me the previous owner wrecked it back in 2006 but there was no frame damage done. Replaced the whole front end.

I paid $2500 for a clean title, more mileage S14. Carfax came back that it got into a wreck in the back. Didnt notice anything till I found bondo on the rear driverside, behind the back wheel. Now, if I knew there was bondo, I wouldnt have fucking bought it. I wanted a perfect body, don't care about the paint much, but prefered a good body.
Now since your in NC, either start searching further south cuz you wont find a whole lot of pickings up north. S14s are rare in the east coast to begin with, most S14's I've seen in VA and MD are overpriced POS. Actually, I found these in VAdriven... clean title is preferred. I think if the car was from the 80s, thats when I start not caring about salvage title... old car is old car regardless, there will be things wrong with it.
Other then that, it is hard to find a prestine virgin 240.. all beat to shit now

I found my friend his 95 S14 for 5 grand. Clean title, clean body, nice paint, leather, a/c, power everything, 5spd, silkroad coils, full kazama arms, 17 inch decent offset fn's, brand new tires. Talked the guy to 4800 and it came with an extra apex-i dual n1 n some other stuff.

Depends on where you at...the further northeast you go, the harder it is to find S14s. Plus, salvage title doesnt necessarily mean the car is fucked. Remember, these cars arent worth much to the eyes of insurance companies nowadays. Could be salvage due to theft recovery. Hell, you get into a fender bender and insurance are liable to write it off.

Buying a salvage car is a risk so the most important thing to do before buying it is INSPECT IT!. Get estimates of how much it would cost to repair it and contact your local DMV to make sure you will have no problems getting a rebuilt or reconstructed title.

One also needs to remembe the new salvage title processes in many states. Where before you could ride around/dive a salvage car without worry, they are now all required to pass 'Enhanced/Salvage' type inspections to deem their roadworthyness.
With hat said, the titles will still be branded, however they are now considered 'Safe' due to proper state inspection of them. All things considered however, that does NOT mean their value is the same as a non salvage or R title car, but I would not be hesitant to check out an R title so long as it has certificate of passing salvage/enchanced inspection. (We've had plenty of R title cars come through in perfect condition, often victims of drug related busts or floods...but in the same breath, we've failed MANY for being busted up piles...)

Keep in mind that it's not just accidents that cause salvage titles. Theft, Insurance scams, and psycho ex girlfriends can all create salvage titles. Sometimes it doesn't really take much for an older car to get a salvaged title. Carfax it, but also remember if its not reported, it obviously won't be in the vehicles record. There's a lot of crashed and fixed "clean title" cars out there. Like a hit and run that's your fault! Ooops! I'll just hit up Maaco! Insurance wasn't always mandatory. You just gotta know what to look for I guess.
