Because the timing belt / chains / whatever it has are a total pain in the ass, and so is having two head gaskets?
Seems interesting, don't really care about the why.. it should entertain me at the very least.

-mainly because it hasnt been done.. how many 240's do you see at drift events? -ej's are expensive to build and repair.. especially when you dont have one laying around to fix or install.. but have 2 spare sr's laying around

i think the bet is under 48 hours.. after initial start up and test runs to check everything im pretty sure we are going to find out an hour afterwards if itll handle it. ha thanks. technically it isnt my build..its my shell legally right now (until his tax return comes in) and his motor.. im just a good buddy who likes to turn wrenches

After reading that title I wasn't entirely sure what would be in this thread... Glad it's a motor swap. I'm with the majority that are excited to see it, I think you're the second 'buru in OT that's doing an SR swap!

You're right, that subie isn't obscure enough. How's this guy gonna act like he's a car hipster with such a mainstream engine and chassis

Is this supposed to be a build thread or what? I check back on this thread to see if anything new pops up and nothing.
I wanna say this is lock worthy because really, what the fuck are we discussing? How cool it is to put a SR in a WRX? Or what? I say, when you are DONE with your engine swap and such, then show us how it all went down with pictures and videos. This thread is pointless with nothing to show. |

20+ hours over the weekend....pulling a motor, moving shells in and out of the garage, putting the motor in, realizing it wont sit back enough due to the pitch stop mount and pulling it back out, taking care of said pitch stop mount, getting motor back in, realizing the front axles were getting caught up so motor back out.. (**FYI this is where the shit hit the fan.. youd think 3 dudes with a good general backround of cars could get a wrx axel out in under 30 minutes....... no no chance in hell. we spent atleast 5 hours trying to figure out why the hell it wasnt coming out. all it is.. is an axel nut holding it in the knuckle. whacking at it with a hammer for about 5 minutes each didnt budge it. couple turns with the air hammer did nada. thankfully i got the bright ideal to use a flywheel puller, pull the caliper and rotor off and attatch the 3 arms to the back of the hub. about 30 minutes later and a 2ft breaker bar it popped out.) and then putting motor back in seeing where it was hitting and sitting. then contemplating what should be done and whats the best way to go about it. ofcourse argueing whos idea was better and trying to explain what you meant every 5 mintues probably wasted a good bit of an hour.. is too slow and or not enough for you. things are getting done. sorry were not working as fast as youd like. ..................................
