No parking lights...

I seem to have lost my tail lights and marker lights. My turn signals still work. My brake lights still work. My reverse lights still work. My headlights still work.

I don't know when this happened since I don't drive at night a lot in this vehicle ('92 240SX SE), but I noticed it last night. The fuse was blown so I replaced it and turned on the lights and it immediatley blew the fuse, so I obviously have a short somewhere. I pulled all the lights and looked at the wires coming from each, with no luck in finding anything obvious.

Is there anywhere on these cars that this is a regular problem/hot spot?

Could the short be in my gauge cluster since the lights are out in it too?

Any help in pinpointing the problem will be greatly appreciated.

Your "parking lamp" circuit is the one that is having a problem. Parking lamps consist of all lights that illuminate on when the light switch is turned once, this includes interior and exterior lamps.

Look around and try to find your short. It would usually be in an area that gets tampered with, either trunk, signals, sidemarker.. anywhere there is a connector would be my first choice.

good luck,
- Mike
