replacing nuts and washers

When I got my 300zx brakes they were missing the nut that attaches to the block anchor that goes through the hub and knuckle. Is there a reason for me to get them from nissan (they are very proud of their nuts and want $9.5 each nut and $4 for each washer). Is there a reason i can't just go to a hardware store and get a generic nut that fits.

Your question makes no sense.

1) There are no nuts on the Z32 caliper, anywhere.

2) The caliper mounts the spindle. The hub has nothing to do with it.

Try again. Maybe with the correct information someone can answer you.

i never said on the back of the caliper, in fact the word caliper doesn't show up in the original post, if you read my post i said "they were missing the nut that attaches to the block anchor that goes through the hub and knuckle" The caliper is not involved. the bolt is on the back side of the dust shield and secures the Parking brake pads.

Right.. 300ZX brakes doesn't equal caliper to any other sane person... What a knob.

Anyway, I imagine that nut isn't highly stressed, so as long as it's a class 8.8 nut it should be fine. If you don't know what that is, then just buy the nut from the dealer.
