Somewhere in the neighborhood of +35mm (for about a 7 to 7.5in wide wheel on fronts) is fine if you don't have to worry about clearing coilovers or larger brakes. In the rear I have heard of people with 9in wheels and in the front most don't go much larger than 8in wide. This doesn't mean you can't go larger or have a different offset but this will give you an idea of where to start. Just FYI alot of people go with a much lower offset than what I mentioned (i.e. low +20's)

you can fit 8s in front and 9s in back w/o neg camber i believe

you can fit 9s up front and 10s in back w/ neg camber as well

all depends on:
spoke design
offset
coilovers
brakes

for clearance issues. eahc wheel is different, therefore an offset on one wheel wont clear same as another

as far as simple
you can go 7" wheel +10 offset and that will clear coilovers but NOT z brakes, BUT it will be extremely (just about perfectly) flush with fender.

that's how my friends 15x7 +10 and +12 mesh was. the 10 was most flush with fender. also depends what tires you use and how wide the tire is.

so many "if"

I've got 17X8's in front and 9's out back with a +37 offset all around. I hear in Japan that 9's in front with a +15 is a popular size. I would imagine that they are running the same size for the back as well or 10's possibly. Quite a few guys run R33 rims which are 17X9 all around. Oh ya I got a S13

9 w/ +15 means lots of negative camber

koguchi has 17x9 +12 w/ wide fenders on his red 180sx. (gram lights pros) for front

for rear he has 18x10 +12

wide fenders there too

just depends on how much camber you dont mind running and your use for that setup.

yeah R33 gtr rims fit well. 17x9 +30!

Yeah if you dont want to run a lot of neg camber than just stick with the 8's and 9's.
