Yes, they are common, they built as many as the Supra MKIV and Terminator. They built more then the GTR R35 and R34.

I think you can get them for around $100k these days. That's the same price as a GTR, ZR1 or Viper.

None of these 5 figure cars are cheap to build. Guys with 1,500whp GTRs have $100k+ into the car which already costs $115k new. They are also often on their second or third transmission.

Gallardos are AWD, have very strong transmissions and excellent V10's. They can take the abuse.

Vipers get very twitchy. The Terminator also gets twitchy but they are generally included because they are punching WAY above their weight class.

Typical Supra is $40k anymore. You can still get a higher mileage Cobra for under $20k.

It's crazy to think, but back then Ford ended up with a ton of extra cars at the end of 2003. They back production way back as a result.

Today, all of the Shelby's, GT500 and the new GT350 have sold for $5-15k over MSRP or with excruciating wait lists.

I'm glad my car was not named a stupid ass "Shelby". Dude would have put his name on toilet paper if you paid him too.

Older cars are pretty cool. 1996, 300hp, DOHC V8, that was actually pretty good. They have the Teksid aluminum blocks and Kellog forged cranks as well. Downside they also have the shitty T45 5spd and powder-steal rods.

At the end of the day the mod-motors tend to get a bad wrap. For what they are they have huge FI potential once you ditch the crappy rods. They just come off as intimidating because they basically leave no engine bay room, unlike a LS1, SBC or SBF.

They Coyote can not touch the sound of the old DOHC or 2V. Not even close.

For 3 we've done all sorts of talking. Pick up Trucks, SUVs, BMWs, Corvettes, and of course Mustangs.

Agreed. The idea of a direct or spiritual replacement for the S Chassis died to death after we found out there was no hope for the IDX going into production.

So yeah, this thread is now really about other rwd coupes or even sedans that are filling that void in the industry and our driveways. For some of us it's Mustangs, some Genesis' and others like myself CUV people haulers. It's also the best place on Zilvia to talk about the auto industry in general.

I love this thread.

A Mustang that is lower than 90% of the 240's out there...

Despite that. It rides like a German sport sedan. Cobra actually uses a completely different steering rack then the GT/V6 and it shows. Very direct and firm.

No. I actually plan on putting the Battles on the Cobra this weekend and doing some practice burn outs in a big open area.

There is an art to it!

Also, another tip for the kids, don't peal out while turning and try doing a burnout.

Pull out, line up straight and then do it while modulating the throttle and brakes. You need to let the car creep forward.

Most the idiots gun it while turning, the car gets wonky, over correct and crash.
