the euro-spec mkiv supra and kouki s14 both came with glass headlights. i would pick glass ANY DAY over plastic. simply put, PC lenses require too much upkeep. oh well, what do i know. :-)

Ichikoh made them.

The cut line on them is above the cutoff line on the projectors. You can cover the top part with your hand and see.

I would rather have them any day over some random curve plastic lenses. To expand on all the high end euro brands using glass and Euro Zenkis coming with glass.

The only errant light I have is from the squirrel catcher prisms in the center. I have the slots closed on my projectors so they do help throw some light off to the side.

On my HID projectors. This tab and slit is to throw errant light to light up signs and small woodland creatures on the side of the road. Bent it down to cover the slot for dat cutoff yo.



The halogens in the Kouki headlights were great for their time but technology has changed. The bowls in most factory projectors the bowl silver coating is faded, foggy or faded. They aren't curved for proper HID bulb parallax. So, I'm not running stock projectors.

Hey guys, sorry to zombify this thread but i didn't figure my question was worth a new thread. You guys have mentioned that the aftermarket plastic lenses are less durable and fade/yellow quicker than oem glass. I'm wondering if clear PPF (paint protection film) will prevent this? I've heard a coat of wax helps but I think this would be a little better for stone chips if it does in fact help fading/yellowing as well. Also, I'm assuming my hid kit for my usdm lights will work in an aftermarket set? correct me if I'm wrong here

You may get better responses in the definitive lighting thread. Glass lenses will not fade, but they can pit and break. I would not use clear film on plastic lenses if you have a projector retrofit, otherwise it's fine. just know it's a pain in the ass to remove if you ever want to.
