Circuit Sports short shifter packed with RTV between the halves. It bounces around but makes no noise and I have solid mounts. It feels great but I think my syncros are going out.

History Class Time...
C's (Commander's) was one of the original Short Shifter producers and closed its doors around 2000. B&M made copies of their design (V1, which was a crappy replica) and then modified it (V2, is much better). For its era and even tody the C's is better than most of what is available on the market, and even Tomei rebranded and #ed a short line of C's shifter as their own. Nismo is a Solid Shifter with a shorter stalk only, and its filled with rubber. Attain is nice and solid but doesn't use the change in fulcrum like the C's., its also a Copy of the Nismo, only solid Stainless Steel. URAS oh god... its a stick, no fulcrum change... and you feel everything Cusco has a Copper Bushing... I highly suggest getting one and replacing the stock plastic. I also suggest playing with different Shift Knobs... Weight, Feel, etc.. -Drew |

I have a buddy that made his own short-throw shifter. Literally the shortest throw I've ever seen. It badass.
It was made specifically for a SR20 510. I'll see if he wants to market it or whatever, and get some videos of it. |

I have the megan racing version 1 with a brand new oem bushing... Feels amazing, no rattle at all.
Kinda happy for something I bought without thinking... (one of my supplier told me he had a megan racing short shifter v1 laying around and he would gave me a good deal) |

$30 ebay shifter. Bought it as a joke a year and a half ago. Put the plastic bushing on and it's awesome. A little more noise but after a month I didn't notice it. I couldn't be happier

C's/Tomei shifter + cusco brass bushing. /endthread
Cusco and circuit sports make the brass bushings. About $20-30. You can feel a difference. Makes it even more solid and precise. |

Because the Circuit Sports was 30 bucks with free shipping when I got it. I like it more then the B&M. Some of that may have to do with it being 170 less but CS makes good products for the most part.

I had an ISIS that came with the car, rattled so much and felt so shitty, even with an OEM Shifter bushing. Was so sloppy.
Bought a B&M for like 100 bucks and I'm happy about it. Not sloppy at all, and I have had it in my car for over a year now, feels great. |

I have b&m V2 with sr and it rattles like a mofo after 6k, but other wise it is night and day compared to stock. Stock was all loose and wobbly when cruising now the new one is planted and makes my shifts more confident. havent compared it to another one, but i like the one i have

If you have a JDM brand you are a JDM pimp or just a whore like me...
C's Tomei Nismo Uras Attain etc... If you have a B&M you at least care about quality... Now if your one of these slacker ass bandwagon jumpers or some ramen noodle cheepo shit whore... Isis Megan Circut Sports etc... is for you... |

$30 ebay short shifter made of billet steel. Super solid, NEVER missed a shift in the 1.5 yrs I've have it ( many drift events). Doesn't wobble, rattle, or anything. no point of spending 150 on a B&M unless ur rich or something. Super strong steel, doesn't feel like it will snap or break when I slam through gears.

anybody know the sizes of our shifter springs (or know the exact rc car model that uses the same length spring)?
I want to go to a hardware store and get some stiffer ones

Jake mentioned I should post up the shifter I built for an SR20 510 I'm building for a guy. It is by far my favorite thing about the car. It is about a 1 inch throw from any gear to neutral. Have another SR20 510 that will be getting one also.

I feel like the stock shifter is better for daily driving and the short shifter is for aggressive driving. Either way, the only reason i bought one is because the threads on my stock shifter were stripped and only the ugly stock shift knob would fit on it because it was stripped too.
