so i got the wheels on the car over weekend! im super happy! wound up going with a 225/45R17 upfront and a 245/40R17 in the rear. I wanted a 255/40R17 outback, but Falken doesnt make them in the Ziex line theres a little stretch going on, but nothing major. i need to drop the coilovers 1/2" this weekend, get my wheel spacers on (15mm) and do my alignment next week, but overall im super happy that nothing rubs and ive got a good amount of fender clearance to mess with, even if i go with a wider tire down the line (which i most likely will in the rear).

Advan Super Racing Generation 2
Front: 17X8.5 +30 | Falken Ziex 615: 225/45/17
Rear: 17x9.5 +38 | Falken Ziex 615: 245/40/17

I forgot to update the rubbing in the rear. Turns out its just the passenger rear 1/4 panel. Car was in a wreck before I ever got my hands on it and had shitty work done to it. Driver side has no problem because its normal. So added to the list is $2800 worth of paint and body + getting my new engine and trans combo going lol.

18x10.5" +22 on a 285/35. Not aligned yet, but I like how it looks.

Enkei NT03+M 5X114
Front: 18X9.5+27
Rear: 18X10.5+30
Nitto NT-05 Front: 245/40/18
Nitto NT-05 Rear: 285/35/18

Rear still had room for another 15mm.. so easily could have done 295..

Decided to change wheels and since they will be 11's i'll have to come down to 275/35/18 rear and keep the 245/40 up front as front is gonna be a 10..

Will 245/40/18 fit up front on a s14 with no rubbing? Wheels are 18x9.5 +15 RPF1. Fenders are rolled n pulled.

245/40/18 is a pretty tall tire if your car is reasonably low.

If you do 245/40, you're going to have a bad time.

Any suggestions? I currently have 225/40 up fronts and too much stretch for my liking. 275/35/18 rears. KW coils, PBM knuckle n arms.

do 255/35/18 instead of 245/40's. I have them mated up in the rear with 275/35/18's.

245/40 and 275/35 maintains the same outer diameter though if that is going to matter to you. That's what I'm running on my S13.

yep, that's why i decided to stay with front 245/40.. plus on a 10" rim it will stretch even more, but not too much.. on 9.5 wide it was perfect!

Thanks for the compliments!! I'll post new pics once the new wheels are on the tune is finally done..

I don't want to start anything here, but I think if you look up the specs on most tires, a 245/35 and 285/30 is actually a little closer to OE diameter

Good to know. That was one thing that I didn't really take into consideration when I chose my tire sizes. I looked at what was more available to me at the time as take offs from other track going cars and the available sizes NT01's come in.

It's best to keep tire heights the same front to rear. You can't get them to match perfectly, but close is better than a 26" up front and a 28" out back for street duty.

245/40/18 and 275/35/18 are nearly identical as mentioned above.. i just ordered Ventus RS-3 to put on RS05RR's which are replacing my NT03+M's pictured above so I'll post some pics once they are mounted.. front tire is 25.7" diameter and rear is 25.6" pretty darn close..

I'll probably move up to 285/35 once i trim the over-fenders a bit.. and that size measures 25.9" diameter.

So what are acceptable tire sizes for 17x10 and 17x11? Not trying to fit the most I possibly can on the wheel, but looking to replace the current 225's that I've got on them. No worries about fitment on the car it's got 40mm front and 50mm rear overs.

Okay well my wheels have enough offset that they aren't even close to the coilovers, and the fender fitment can be adjusted since the rear overs aren't mounted permanently and I can add or pull camber up front as needed.

nearly identical yes, but 245/40/18's will be way tall for the front to have any good clearance. Pictured is 18x9.5+15 245/40/18 with -3 camber and 18x10+38 275/35/18 with 0 camber. it looked aweful IMO and I switched to 255/35/18's in the front. width of the tire was very similar but sidewall profile is way more manageable to deal with in the front.
