KA A "deep" exhaust sound using only a na KA24E

Hey guys, what are some pretty awesome sounding exhaust setups you guys have seen and heard in person coming from just a stock KA24E? I'm trying to get an idea of what to get for my KA24E.

And no, please do not stray away from the topic and tell me "just do an engine swap" or "don't even waste your time." I am already planning to do an engine swap on my car. The exhaust I plan to get is just for me to use until I save enough money to do the swap. To be more specific, I'm looking for a nice, deep sound. A bit louder than stock, but not obnoxious loud. Something like this (skip to 0:42):

Lexus IS300 exhaust - deep tone/sound - YouTube

Yes, not a 240, I know. What's the CLOSEST I could get to that sound purchasing only exhaust components for a KA24E? It's not going to be exactly the same, I know, because it's a totally different engine and setup, etc. But with the ability to only change the exhaust system (not including manifolds/headers, either), what do you guys think is the closest I could get? Thank you.

P.S. I've also heard going with a 3" outlet will most likely cause you to lose a lot of low end, which I don't want. I'm looking more towards a 2.5" outlet. If my combo of "deep sound" and 2.5" outlet is not possible, let me know. Still learning about cars as I go :P

Generally, the larger the diameter, the deeper it will sound. So I would just go with a 3 inch or bigger if possible. The thing about losing low end is a myth. It's been dyno tested.

3" exhaust on N/A engines will sort of make the tone deeper. But for the most part, it sounds like a fart can.

Go with a 2.5" system. It's all you'll ever need on a N/A application. You'll see about as much benefit if not more than a not-so restrictive 3" piping. Like someone said before me, a BRM exhaust system + a long resonator will give you a real nice tone, not some fart can noise.

I know this is a 18" resonator but the 22" that BRM offers will make the tone deeper.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xf1Usv4VcMM

For a KA, an exhaust alone will not yield you any benefits so if you're planning on boosting the single cam, then you may want to go with a 3", but a 2.5" could also be used if you're not planning on making a lot of power.

I have a 4 inch outlet on my NA KA. (inb4 ricey or gay or whatever). I didn't notice any sort of loss of low end power at all and it sounds fantastic IMO. Really deep and awesome.

when my ka was na i had an ebay exhaust manifold, test pipe and topfuel 3inch with dented to fuck resonator with various exhaust leaks thru the system. shit sounded AMAZING. at the track NO ONE believed it was a single cam. super deep to about 3.5k then above that (if on it) it sounded like the gates of hell were opening up.
but yea id say try to find a top fuel exhaust and header.

Exhaust on a N/A KA? Waste of money. Just gonna attract attention to you going nowhere fast.

I would look for an exhaust that has more than one resonator (more than just just the one in the exhaust tip). Resonators help to keep the rasp down and achieve that deep-toned exhaust note.

I have an apexi n1 dual catback it's not too loud and I'm very annoyed by overly loud exhaust when I'm in the car it's only loud when you want to it to be.

This^^ with header and 2 1/4 piping my car sounded like a nest of angry bees! I ended up throwin a cherry bomb on there and it smoothed out All the raspiness and had a deep low tone. GL!

add a header and/or exhaust to a KA24E, you'll see how quickly it starts to stumble at low rpms

only fix i ever found was to disconnect the BPT valve. it controls the EGR based on back pressure.

thats assuming i actually have knowledge of what i am talking about

I believe that is the valve on the back of the intake manifold that has a hardline connected to the exhaust somewhere. It's a bitch to get to with the intake manifold on the motor, or motor in the car.

Bpt valve controls your egr valve. Aka egr control valve. That tube plumbs exhaust gasses through your egr valve and into your intake manifold to be burned again. Egr system=exhaust gas recirculating system.

Pretty much, but it's a cheap and quick mod and everyone has been there at some point.

Personally, I really liked the sound of the BRM exhaust zooopreme posted.
