My tuner had a gps speed sensor from autometer laying around !

He wired it to its aem ecu and it work number one on the laptop ! You would need a aim or racepak dash !!! Im not sure about the stock dash reading that gps

Ill be doing that on my car when my z33 trans is in

Nice swap OP.

I'm fairly certain that most if not all GPS speedometers have an analog output, the stock 240 cluster needs an alternating current (AC) signal such as coming from an abs sensor. I get my speedometer reading from using an abs sensor then I slow down the signal and adjust it with a Dakota digital sgi-5, it's super easy to do and cheaper than most GPS units that I've seen. I like it, the signal never drops, you don't have to mount an antenna. Both ways work just letting you know.

George is local for me and his kit went together flawlessly. Plus it came with all the hardware you need for the transmission in the mount

S13/s13 sr with oem replacement motor mounts. Other than the shifter hole, nothing on the body needed to be modified.

nice ultimate, i forgot to mention that i did have to also grind that area down on my transmission to make room for the bottom mount turbo elbow

the collins kit works greak but Brett is a bit slow making the parts and sending it out the issue i had with the throw out bearing carrier was not bretts fault apparently the 05+ tranny has a shorter pivot ball then the 03-04 trannies and if i would have used the 03-04 pivot ball i would not have had the issue. but the 6 speed runs super smooth even with the 6 puck act extreme clutch its not an unbearable engagement like my brothers clutchmasters clutch is and the gears fly so fast! the car feels like a beast and i have less power then i did before i took the engine out because now im running 10psi because of the untuned AEM

i love it and you will too! totally worth the money heck i spent more on my wheels then i did on the 6 speed swap

also the collins transmission crossmember lets me use the regular sr/ka transmission mount which i was happy about because ive had Nismo mounts for about 5 years now and im super happy with them and they still look new

I also reccomend George's "Maverick Motorsports" kit just because of the ease of install. No issues. Plus he even made the new parts for us guys that wanted to use the revised 08+ HR trans.

Yea battosaii930 I actually called and pointed them to your thread. He was pretty bumbed to see you didnt use the throw out bearing carrier. I agree the collins kit is awesome but the turn around time seems leghthy. Do you have any chattering coming from the clutch engagement or anything?

His trans isn't in the car yet. I'm very close to driving so I'll let you know what kind of chattering I experience with
George's kit. I'm also using a spec stage 3 sr clutch.

from what i heard the chattering is from using a lightlweight flywheel and has nothing to do with whos transmission swap kit you use but im not worried at all ive seen much much much worse chattering on an evo

Hmmmm. Just taken the car for a long drive.

It seems I am getting some chattering off throttle. Goes away the moment you put the clutch in while rolling. Anybody getting this?

Had it up on stands and it seems to be backlash resonating through the 1 piece driveshaft.

Yeah. I just turn the radio up haha.

My diff has huge amounts of backlash, but I'm going to a GTR rear end setup sooner rather than later so that should rule that out as the cause.

Yup my trans is very loud compared to an sr and vibrates more. I think it's the nature of the transmission. 350z guys have been crying about it for ever

It just makes everything more racecar. Tell people you have an osgiken dogbox with h-pattern shifter conversion.

Woot woot, Soon you shall be driving again!

Edited for update, new driveshaft arrived. Pretty much all my harness is reconnected and I just need to install my radiator and intercooler piping. Then fill with fluids and it's time to drive.

Steel driveshaft $250 made here at a local shop.

Drove car last night and it was awesome, need to bleed clutch better and fix a coolant leak then I can rip on it.

Sinced i've already had a 1pc aluminum with my sr for 3 years, i figured I would just stay aluminum with the z trans, although people have been telling me to go back to steel because of the "rotating mass". But I like the aluminum shaft.

Lou I chopped my reverse light clip off the stock sr trans. And I'm gonna see if I can wire it to connect with the Z reverse sensor with some spade clips or something then make sure the harness can reach the factory plug.

This is all theory so I don't even know if the signals will interface

Should just be an ON-OFF sensor basicaly, completing the circuit when in reverse to throw the lights on.

Drove to work today. Clutch chatter is definitely more noticeable. Also in getting a fair amount of vibration on the freeway around 2500-3k rpms. I don't think it's bad just a side effect of the large trans in a tight tunnel
