TBH, this just isn't something I really care about. But if your budget is tight and you don't want used wheels with questionable history, budget brands like Enkei, MB and Cosmis are good options.

Authentic is cool and all, but if you're buying all your "legit" wheels used, you're not really supporting that industry or the R&D they've put into that wheel.

Go ahead and spend your money, there just isn’t a logical reason behind it.

@simmode, I agree there is no legitimate financial support behind buying used wheels.
Supporting business is a plus when you wind up with higher quality wheels. But a used market is, again, no excuse to start supporting shit brands like Xxr and their lack of any amount of R&D

Right, that's why I mentioned those budget brands who are known for original designs.

I wonder whats Zilvia's general consensus on them? And are there any other "legit" budget brands I might not know about, aside from Enkei, MB and Cosmis?

^agreed ive seen some enkei sets I rather enjoy.
Battles are okay. Not a big fan of cosmis designs but at least they’re halfway original.

5zigen FNs are also generally pretty cheap and quality. And look good with concave face.

Just bought a set of 18x7.5 Volk GT-V's off YAJ for $500. Build them to match my current rear 18x10 GT-V's and then i'll have 6 matching rears.
Yeah the fact I could have bought 4-6 reps for what i'll have into these sucks but, hey at least my car will always have matching wheels and look better in drift pics.

I see you guys rebarrelling your 2 & 3 piece wheels all the time, but how much does that really cost for something like you just mentioned? Taking a $500 wheel from 18x7.5 to 18x10... or even 17xWhatever to 18xBlahblahblah?

Just curious...

it all depends: how much you get the wheel for initially, are you doing step lip, refinish faces, new hardware, etc. Some places like VR will give you a discount if you buy all the lips and barrels from them in one order.

if you watch close enough you can make it worth your while. I have seen some really good deals on weak spec VSKFs. hell I saw a complete set of weds that I really wanted to relip/rebarrel for like 600 bones on ebay.

if you find a set you think you want to rebarrel, hit up VR for a quote. add the quote price to your initial weak spec wheel price, then factor things in like face refinishing and hardware if needed. not that hard.

OK Turbo, you triggered enough people. This thread may go the way of the dinosaur now.
