Billet "drop-in" GT35R Wheel (no machining required):

11-Blade with 18 degree extended tip - $295

If you have a good working GT35R, we can install the wheel and cartridge balance the turbo for an extra $100.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks

Hi Jesse,

I have a ball bearing Garrett S14 T28 (GT2560R I believe).

What kind of upgrade could you do it and for what price? Converted to the GTX series?

You have many different options:

Upgrade to standard (non-billet) 62 trim CW:
$75 wheel + $100 machining + $100 install and balance = $275

Upgrade to Billet 60 trim drop-in CW (as shown in pic above):
(highly recommended, spools faster and makes more power)
$250 wheel + $100 install and balance = $350

Upgrade to Billet GTX71 CW:
You would need to upgrade the turbine wheel too because the GT2560R turbine is too small to support the Billet 71. We call this a conversion. Prices start at $650 to upgrade both wheels. Depending on which wheels. Call or e-mail to discuss.

What is your WHP goal?

Thanks

Just spoke to Charles, he was very informative, he got me in the right direction for a turbo that they are going to build for me... so much more cost effective than precision or garrett

thanks charles

No, not yet. We have sold plenty of the 35R Billets. We have not done a side-by-side comparison yet. We will be releasing compressor maps in the future. Customers who are running the 35R billet wheels have given us only positive feedback. We will be sure to post results once a comparison has been done. Thanks

Wow I like this idea if its possible. I have a new gt2560r that I've been maxing out (did more suporting mods than I thought I would do) and want to step up to 2871. I'm interested in any type of comparison although I'm more worried about durability/quality. I don't want to screw up a perfectly good turbo. I guess ill be in contact with you to talk about it.

OK, we can upgrade your turbo but your GT2560R turbine wheel is too small to handle a 71 compressor wheel. You would need a turbine wheel upgrade too. The GT2860R and GT2860RS have the bigger turbine wheel which is perfect with the 71 compressor wheels. Call or email for details.

As far as durability, we cartridge balance all our performance turbos and rebuilds. The balance is very critical with these turbos! Not even precision turbo has a cartridge balancing machine (notice their shaft nuts don't have any balance adjustments on them).

All our BB rebuilds receive our upgraded ceramic ball bearing unit which replaces the Garrett steel ball bearing unit.

We have not had 1 warranty or return yet on any ball bearing rebuild, upgrade, or new turbo that we have built. I know that sounds hard to believe but it's true. Lots of happy customers...

Do you have any dyno comparisons? Im the skeptical type and want to see real results. Don't know how much cost effective this replacement wheel would be when I could sell my turbo and buy a new Precision 6265 and make as much if not more power.

No sorry, not yet. I understand your skepticism. We have been hassling our past customers to send dyno sheets for the same reason. We know some people just don't believe in a turbo until they see dyno sheets, which is fine. Compressor maps and dyno sheets are in the works...

Now a PT6265, that's a MUCH bigger turbine wheel, and a little bit bigger (1mm on the inducer) compressor wheel. Not really an apples to apples comparison. Your 35R with a billet upgrade will spool up MUCH faster than a 6265. You have a lot of different options to choose from depending on what is more important to you: peak HP vs. spool time.

Not worried to much about spool, since I have an RB25. A 6262 would be closer comparison but if I change turbos I'm going with a 6265. Looking forward to dyno sheets and compressor maps, you might change my mind. Good luck!

The RB25 does a decent job at spooling these bigger turbos. Nice motor. For your next turbo, at least go with a company that performs a cartridge balance on their turbos like Garrett, Turbonetics, Borg Warner, or PureTurbos. We find that the precision turbos are out of balance anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 gr/in on the compressor side plane when we put them on the cartridge balancing machine. This is majorly sub-par for the turbocharger industry. Turbos can spin up to 250,000 RPM!!!

The idea of the Billet 60trim sounds really good, so does the GTX71. I have a S14 SR20 and bolt ons, looking to make 320whp fairly soon and support near 400whp. What is the HP range I'd be in for either setups?

Is 650 the total cost to upgrade to a GTX style setup? Thanks for the quick response. I look forward to doing business with you guys..

PS. What kind of turn around time do you guys usually have? Think this is a question I'm sure a lot of people have! Do I ship the turbo out and you guys pay return shipping?

Sure can. That would be a compressor wheel and turbine wheel upgrade. Pricing depends on the current condition of your turbo. We have 52 and 56 trim billet GTX wheels available.

No, to support 400whp you would have to upgrade your compressor wheel and turbine wheel (if you have a GT2560r). Your GT2560r turbine wheel is simply too small for 400whp. Now if you have a GT2860r, different turbine wheel, different story.

Turn around time depends on what we are doing for you. Rebuilds can be 1-4 days. Complete upgrades requiring machining can take up to 1-2 weeks. Depends on our work load too. We have 4 techs building turbos 40 hrs a week. So we are busy. Customer pays for shipping. Return shipping is a fixed $25 in the continental states.
Thanks

I have a couple GTi-R T28's, I'm pretty sure they are of similar size to the S14 T28 except that they're journal bearing. One of them was supposedly brand new and only had 1000ish miles on it. When I got it from a guy on here the shaft had tons of play and both the compressor wheel and turbine wheel were a little chewed up. Are you guys able to upgrade that to a journal bearing 2871 by replacing the wheels/machining? If so cost?

I wouldn't mind doing that and then selling my current good GTi-R T28.

Yes! We can build you a custom 2871 JB. This would be a turbine and compressor upgrade.

Pricing: $650 (non-billet CW)

Includes all parts, labor, machining, balancing, and return shipping.
