Dont know much about audio but i was wondering about SOUND DEADNING!
has anyone had any bad complaints about QUICK ROOF from a local lowes/homedopet? or is it just crap and just stick to dynamat? any words of advice possitive or negative are welcome since ive never touched the item. just thinking about purchasing to lower some exhaust noises in the cabin. |

I'm sure Toby will chime in eventually, I'm very happy using SecondSkin Damplifier Pro and Luxury Liner. Damplifier Pro is a mass-loaded vinyl (like Dynamat Extreme) that stops panels from resonating, commonly used on roofs and trunks, but I put it on just about everything. Luxury Liner is a closed-cell foam that 'soaks' up noise inside the cabin, designed for floorboards, trunks, wheelwells, etc.
Another thing that's nice is DEI's Floor and Tunnel shield, which does sound absorption and heat. We're a dealer for DEI and their BoomMat products as well.

Don't laugh, I'm not a pro in any way or claim to be.. but this is the piece I made to fit in the back of my vert. I bought the car with no interior at all so I thought I'd do this instead of trying to find original vert parts.
The whole thing cost me less than 20dollars. The amps and sub were already in the trunk of the car. I just built the box: Almost fitted perfectly, just had to build some support to hold it in perfectly. |

As a person that does sound for raves I HATE how speaker and amp companies rate their products. Shit is all over the place and I don't trust any of it

Broadfield, what are your thoughts about those universal speaker baffles? I've seen ABS plastic and foam material ones.
Was thinking of buying these to put in the 'vert at all 4 speakers. Currently has 6.5" all-around with eBay door adapters. Would these baffles actually improve sound quality as they claim to do or just a waste of money?

Here's a speaker mod that I haven't seen on another 240sx.
[IMG][/IMG] I cut a sheet of Medium Density Fiberboard (used for speakerboxes), wrapped it in a textured vinly, and squeezed a 10" sub and two 6.5" speakers into the hole from the trunk passthrough. The sheet of MDF is mounted using two bolts, two large washers, and the existing threaded holes from the back seat latch mechanism (can't see them in this pic). |

What features are you looking for? I need to know a lot more info than looking for one with "decent sound": single DIN, double DIN, touch screen, no touch screen, NAV, BT, SAT, HD, steering wheel controls, bad boy EQ etc. etc? Another helpful fact would be what your budget is?

What vehicle is this for? If it's an S13, is it a hatch, coupe or vert? How many pairs of speakers are you wanting? As for the amp, are you implying that you want it to be able to also power a sub in addition to the mid/high speakers or you just need it to power a sub?... or just the mid/high speakers? |
