yes ppl...the time has come for me to upgrade my '98 240sx with a turbo...the problem is...i only have about 4gs to spend on it. i;ve heard that the ka24de motor from 95-on is doesn't take the boost very well because nissan did something to the valvetrain and anything upwards of a 10psi boost will be very dangerous. i also do not want to have to upgrade any valvetrain components because this will basically be a garage project. &nbsp;so my only option is to swap the truckish KA24 for an sr20DET-s13. so should i swap the motor for an sr20det motor or should i buy the turbo for the KA and keep the boost under 8psi?? <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

with a 98, i'd just keep it and turbo it. the things you've heard about the KA valvetrain are false. i've heard of the SR valvetrain not being as durable, but is easily fixable. over 10 psi on the stock KA is risky but it's been done (11 psi?)

I would get the sr20
I just seem to like them more then the shitty ka's...that's just my opinion tho
Either engine is good, if you put some work on it...

<sarcasm>yeah, KA's are as shitty as those stupidly small SR's. &nbsp; You might as well get a VH45DE.</sarcasm>

anyways, 14.5 psi has been seen/ is still being daily driven on with a stock '97 KA24DE running the FMAX Stage II kit.
11 psi was already pushing over 280 rwhp in Ty Yap's car (are there 2 p's in Yap?? err... Yapp?)... 14.5psi put out a bit over 320 rwhp. &nbsp;WIth an SR, you'd already need major fuel/ turbo upgrades to go beyond anyways, which you would have to factor in if you were planning on boosting above that 10 psi mark you had set yourself.
I'd say stick with the KA.

I have a 97 and I plan on staying with the KA because it has more displacement and torque.
An FMAX stage II kit would probably run close to 5g.

only got 4g to spend?? &nbsp;a swap will cause more than that son! &nbsp; putting together a turbo kit yourself is your only option i think.
