I have doubts that the s14 sr trans is the same as the s13 sr trans. I blew my s13 trans and replaced it with a trans that I know for sure was from a s14 sr. My rpm in 5th gear at say 70 mph is about 500 rpms higher in my s14 trans.
Nothing else changed, just the trans. Rear end stayed the same. |

Old post, I know.
I can verify that the S13 and S14 transmissions have the same gear ratios, but the vehicles that the trannys came out of might have had different final drive ratios, so the speedo drive gears were different. Could be the difference between 3.7 and 3.9:1 ratios maybe? Maybe it wasn't the RPMs that were off, but rather the actual speed? |

S14 SRs have a shorter 5th gear than S13 SR trans. I think it's a 0.821, although a google search will confirm.
