you just have to bypass the clutch switch, its not that hard. I had to do it for my remote start.

short out the clutch sensor switch that is attached to your clutch pedal. Be careful accidentally starting in gear though.

wrong that switch is a normally open switch I believe so cutting it will do nothing. just put a ziptie on the plunger so it thinks the clutch is always pushed in. Or splice the 2 wires into each other.

lol ziptie. yeah just pull off the plug to the clutch switch. And take one of those electrical spade/fork fittings and just stick it in the end of the switch. it'll work and let you just pop it off and put it back on just incase you decided it was a dumb idea.

You have to push in the clutch to start an S13 too. If that's not the case, its likely a 5 speed swapped car or somebody tampered with the clutch interlock.

No, LongGrain is right. Just bypass the switch. I think you might have misunderstood him.

What the hell kinda cars you guys have?

All my friends canadian S13s and S14s don't need the clutch engaged to start the car.

Both my jdm 180sx's do not need it engaged either.

its a safety precaution, thats all, but you can always by pass it by just cutting both wires, splicing and connecting it together.. whoever said to use ziptie is a douche bag.

any driver should make it a habit to check that either the clutch is depressed or the car is not in gear before starting.

always.

Like most here said bypass the switch and jdm cars don't have the clutch switch but all U.S. model cars newer than i'd like to say '85 with manual tranny was required by factory to have the clutch switch for safety.

i had to do it on a previous car for an autostart... make it so its easily converted back to having to press in. you wont pass inspection if you have a 5pd and the vehicle starts without the clutch in at my local track
