2005 G35 twin turbo parts list

Put this together quick for a friend. Thought I would share it. OBVIOUSLY none of it is set in stone. It is literally a first draft that took 15 minutes to write up. I know it has been done already and I do not care. Feel free to comment and discuss.

Would be badass if he finally actually decided to say eff it and pull the trigger on this..

Infiniti G35 VQ35DE Twin Turbo build:

Turbo Manifolds - $600?
gaskets (manifolds, flanges, and outlets) - $70
Turbos, 2x GT2560R (V-Band for exhaust simplification) - $2,000
PTP Turbo Blankets - $350
Tapped oil pan - $20 + weld
Oil pan gasket - $20
RTV - $20
Tapped coolant and oil - $50
SS oil and coolant turbo lines - $200
CX Racing dual 2.5" in x one 3" out IC - $200

vacuum tubing - $25
MBC - $25
2.5" Turbo elbows to stock downpipes:
 2.5" V-band elbows - $200
 2.5" Downpipes - $150

Dual 2.5" Cats between DP and X - $600
2.5" - 3.0" X - $40
Gaskets - $50
Oil Cooler w/fan (remote and dual filters?):
Upgrade to dual filters and fan = $300
Maybe even trans. cooler with fan - $100
bolts and washers - $50
Bosch 044 Fuel Pump - $250
Injectors - $600
Adjustable fuel pressure regulator w/ gauge - $200
spark plugs - $50 for 2 sets
Ignition setup (stock? Convert?)
Oil, filter(s) - $25

Gauges:
 Oil pressure - $70
 Fuel pressure - $200
 Water temp. - $50
 Wideband AFR - $200
 Boost/Vac - $60
Wiring and connectors for gauges - $100
JWT or AEM ECU and TUNES!

Target HP would be 525whp and 450+ ft pounds
Cost - ~8-10ish, probably more...

525whp on a VQ35? If this is a stock engine, sounds like a good way to blow it.

It is only a target HP for now. With a good tune, I am sure she'll hold ~425. Only thing that would hold me back would be those pistons. (Nine and a half/ten to one right?)
He does not want to touch the internals. So, if and when he is not making the power levels we are talking about. We'll tear into it...
Note/For record: If I do open it up, ACL bearings, Carillo or Manley rods, and 9:1 CP pistons will find their way in there.
I, personally, at that point, would like to see this thing lay down 700 wheel on race gas and earn its self a couple time slips...

It's one thing to sit and type out a "parts list", but actually DOING this process is much more involved. If this is for budgeting purposes, take your current estimate and multiply 1.5 or 2x.

I just think that $10k is a lot to spend & have to settle for no more than 425hp. The vq35de would never be on my list of motors for an n/a to turbo project. Does not give you any bang for your buck value. I'd encourage your buddy to switch to an s2k for this kinda project or combine this project budget with the value of his g35 to buy a c6 Vette instead.

But like I said... It's not my money...

As I have learned as well...
Right on. We shall see. If he even decides to do this...

I appreciate you chiming in though man. At the least, it is noteworthy.
I just thought to myself, if I can not sway him one way or another and he has the cash to blow, I will do just what he asks and probably a little better..
Would still be cool. Would still be beastly.

Yeah man... I feel that if you can't appreciate the VQ35 as an N/A motor, you should probably look elsewhere for more power. I mean, a newer 3.5L engine that pops its guts at power levels that SR's & KA's are capable of? That's unacceptable, IMO.

Rods will bend first on a VQ35DE.

Use UpREV for tuning.

PM me to buy injectors, I have new sets in stock that flow between 560cc and 660cc depending on your power goals for less than $600.00.

I would also recommend a return fuel system. PM me if you are interested in learning more about that as well (I'm developing one now).

Other than that, plan for extra expense.
