Don't limit yourself to just those trannies. Anything from 91-98 will work. Just make sure you get an S14 speed sensor if you go with an S13 tranny.

I don't know anything about the electrical harness needed, I just know that there is a large sensor on the back of the transmission that needs to be changed if you go with the S13 tranny. I swapped in an S14 tranny onto my car along with my S14 motor and I had to use my S13 speed sensor on the S14 tranny or else the tachometer, odometer, and speedometer don't work. It's easy as hell to change the speed sensor but the hard part is to actually to get ahold of one. Plenty of people have them so just post a WTB ad and I'm sure someone has one.
