The difference is that circle track racing is typically a contact type of racing. It's expected that you are going to have body damage from making contact with the other drivers as well as the wall. it's the same with demolition derby cars, they always look like shit because they know they're going to get fucked up again next race. You wouldn't spend time doing body work or paint on those.

Drifting on the other hand isn't supposed to be a contact sport at all. It's only "become" a contact sport because of this whole missile crisis. The most that was ever acceptable was to just barely graze a wall. Now because of the world of #ClusterFuckDriftBro, it's "cool" to have no skill at all and just ram into shit and be like "because missile car!" Any douche nozzle can run into shit, step your game up children.

And now because of all that horse shit, it's getting closer and closer to acceptable for people to daily drive cars that look like a bag of freshly gang raped asses!!

It's been covered that purpose built cars for specific sports don't belong here (and shitty missile cars don't belong to a legitimate sport....so they are ok)
