Sr20 swap please help!!

So just completed my black top s13 sr20det swap into my s13. I go to start it and it sounds like it has trouble turning even though I have little trouble turning it by hand.

Once it does fire up it makes a loud screaming noise that comes from the back of the motor possibly from the starter. Then it had trouble idling before it dies out. I've tried 2 starters and the same result. The flywheel is Spec and I know all the bearing clearances are spot on from the machine shop. What could this be???

Is the starter turning off once it's running? You replace the T/O bearing in the trans?

The way to check if it's your throw out bearing is depress the clutch pedal once it's running.if it goes away while the clutch pedal is applied and comes back when you let go then there's your noise issue.as for the starting problem make sure you have a fully charged battery and good/clean connections between the battery-> starter

have fun changing your flywheel again. I had the same freaking issue. The spec flywheels had either 3 more or 3 less teeth i cant remember which. Either way the loud screaching is your starter gear being stuck engaged. I can show you a picture of what will happen if you just ignore it. The idling out and dieing is something totally different. Check your plugs/filter etc.

edit: heres my thread when i had the screech
