Just fix this up, why bother going to a new chassis? Fitment can be fixed

new chassis would be in better condition, making it more reliable and not an old turd.....i have no faith to this S13 chassis or Nissan in general sadly, just want a solid safe race car, not one all patched up and repaired a million times.

Thanks unfortunately it ended up being pretty rainy most of the day, so I never got to really test all the new stuff out. Since the next scheduled track day is in September and our SCCA club is falling apart I may be selling it. I hate to do it but hate even more thinking about it just sitting with all the new stuff for most of the year.

I know it's not S-chassis related, but the tuner at the shop I worked at is currently 2nd overall at the Redline Time Attack in an S2K that he built himself and tuned himself.

Broke the current SuperModified RWD Record on low boost (400whp) and is gunning for the Cobb GTR right now that is in 1st place overall.

He's switching to high boost tomorrow (600whp)!

Gnarly Diffuser.

OMG THAT IS SOOOO SICKKKK!!! That exhaust note and response from the engine! SICK!!!! How much work was it to get in there? Was there a kit of the mounts? I love this wayyyyyy more than the V8's that get shoved in there.....

Wow Can't wait to hear what driving impressions to get from it and the balance..... and of course heat....

That diffuser looks sooo heavy... WOw what turbo and specs are on this thing? Cobb is pretty sick, but too bad redline fucked up the competition. No one is running in it this year, so its kinda sad....

Weekend Issues/Fixes:
- Improperly adjusted my brake pedal, so it wouldnt release pressure, fixed with 1 rotation of the brake light switch and sanded glaze off brake pads, easy fix.

- Tires had trouble gripping and heating up, corrected pressures and drove the shit out of the RA-1's.

- 2-piece aftermarket shifter came apart on initial drive, installed temporary bolt to prevent issues second time, need to weld 2 pieces together.

- Clutch - shifter engagement, need to adjust clutch pedal actuating arm, shifting into gear is very difficult.

- Driveshaft hummmm ended with driveshaft exploding......need to order used S13 driveshaft, used G35 driveshaft and have new shaft made and properly balanced.

Oh and i need to fix the dents and tears in the trans tunnel.....pics and short awful video coming soon

That is why its call a shake down lol! Why not just go one piece. Can have one made for like 300? Or does the front end doesn't sit level with the rear?

DS was a one piece, steel. for about $350ish. I am guessing it was either a weld issue or a balance issue since the rear yoke failed completely at around 120mph on the front strait.

For as much lapping events as you do, you should just spend the extra $$ and a Carbon unit from ACPT.

I've ran them on all my cars and it makes a huge difference in noise/vibration. Also the obvious of reasons of weight saving, etc

They are also much safer!

I've yet to have any issues ever but if they do go, they just fan out like a broom and do no damage to the car what so ever. No risk of coming into the cabin or tossing the car in the air. Scary.

i dont have money for AL or Carbon anything, i barely have enough to fix this damage and get back on track in a month. I will be making driveshaft loops for the next one for sure....itll be ugly, but completely functional.

Hey WhiteGLX, can you help me through making the splitter? I am using 1/4" Oak ACX plywood and its pretty strong... I got all the rods and stuff, but the mounts to the lower radiator support.

Can you take a picture of it? did you weld it to the lower rad support? How far does the support bars run back at the bottom? This will help me a lot. Thanks!

Track event went well, lots of great cars there and a bunch of nice guys accompanied with rude arrogant d*cks as well. I went through a bit of last minute trouble to try and fix my cooling issues both coolant and oil temps were high at the last event.

I installed a FC RX7 oilcooler right in front of the radaitor, and i sealed off the hood where its been lifted so high. Results - Oil temps came down, coolant temps are still sky high, so i think ducting and thermostat removed will hopefully do the trick.

Toyo RA1s are not grippy enough on hit days to get more than 5 decent laps in on track, tho lower tire pressures did help a bit, but still only 5 laps or so and then greasiness.

The shifter situation has not been fixed, it was not an issue with my actual shifter at the last event, but more a geometry issue that has to be corrected in order to be able to drive the car smoothly and engage the correct gear each time and avoid bad things and mistakes on track.

Once the tire issue and shifter issues are actually fixed this car will rip, i think both fixes will cause my lap times to come down quite a bit and i can once again concentrate on just driving and not worry about the car and its issues, like i did last year when i gained so much speed with the old setup.

GRM 2010 UTCC 350SX on Vimeo

2010 GRM UTCC just part of a lap i thought was alright... on Vimeo

First video is my fastest lap, but the issues are noticeable in areas, and the second video is half a lap that i think would have been my fastest lap had the checkered flag get thrown when going through oaktree (the last corner in the video).

Pictures to come, many many pics my friend took that i plan on stealing from him .

Question for you guys that autocross.

Is anyone running a 5 lug conversion and getting points added for it? Or are they letting it off as a factory option? Cant find much by searching.
