S14 Trunk not closing/locking

Ok, on my s14 the trunk aint closing/locking. When i close the drunk, the thing bangs and comes back up, it won't stay closed basicly. Something is f'ed up with the locking mechanism, also the interior trunk release doesn't work? but the key has worked. I noticed this started happening when i started puttin rims in my trunk, before i just flipped up a metal tab and all was good, but thats not working anymore. Wondering if anyone has had this problem and knows a quick solution.

I've seen the drunk not popping open, but haven't seen it not locking/staying down.

Tommorow ima grease up everything with some silicone and take it all apart, but if someone has a quickfix please respond!

Hmmm, I had that problem once when my car had been mildly hit in the rear.
I had to flip over that small metal tab on the lock to make it close (looks like that's what you were doing as well) the trunk would randomly open on its own sometimes though. That worked for me for about 2 weeks until I replaced the lock. I've got 2 extra trunk lock mechanisms from some trunks I have lying around but no keys to them, you can just have one if you can't fix yours.

EDIT: Also try messing with the latch hook itself, you could try loosening it and bring the trunk down enough to kind of move the latch into a better position and retighten it, maybe it got shifted somehow.
