I think Nvidia should just focus on keeping up with supply. It is frustrating and confusing why they see the need to create so many damn models. 3090, 3080ti, 3070, 3070ti, 3060, 3060ti, 3050, etc. Geez does it even matter? Thats just being pathologically obsessives for the sake of it. Just have a good 4 gpus at different price points and call it a day and instead focus on supplying what you already have.

This is just another reason why Im leaning more towards AMD these days.

very depressing year really with continued gpu shortages. arguably the worst it's ever been, or at least I can recall when interested in a new gpu. whole crytocurrency thing isn't the most encouraging.

Yea that sucks. I have been ready to buy since the press release, but yea no go.

I still want the 3080ti though. Feel like it would be a true upgrade to the 1080ti. Then I can hang on to the card for another 4 years.

Yeah I'd be tempted to go for that upgrade too as long as the markup isn't horrific. I thought you mentioned not wanting to spend over 800ish though.

May go for a build from the ground up in the next year two seeing how well amd is doing. my 1080ti pairing reasonably well with ultrawide 3440p for me.

Plus lets not forget DDR5 is coming soon. I think I may just hold on to the 4790K and 1080ti until DDR 5 comes and I can get a 3080ti.

This was my first PC build since I slapped a bunch of used components together over 10 years ago.

The 4000D is pretty nice to build in. If I was to build another I'd consider doing the 5000D as it has the same look/aesthetic but a few more cable management options that look really nice.

We know the AIB's we be even higher likely 1300-1400 which means some people will pay up to 50% more than a 3080 for what seems to be 2-13% more performance. The benchmarks I have seen have the higher than 10% are the edge cases. I have seen some where the 3080ti was literally within 7 frames of the 3080. That is an difference no one can even perceive.

I am looking at a 3080 personally. The 1080ti is a great card but is basically mid range for newer titles. The 3080 is close to double performance sometimes.

I need an entire new build though. The 4790K is also showing its age. Im thinking of waiting till Alder lake drops and see what that is all about. DDR5 speeds are so high.

Waiting on 4000 series to buy a new gpu. I refuse to buy a "new" gpu that is soon to be two years old that is still over msrp.

3090 ti is stupid. 2k for card that is marginally better than a 6900xt/308012gb/3080ti.

I am on wait mode for 7000 series too. Think I will just do a build at the end of the year. Hope the 1080ti continues to be awesome.

I paid 2k for a 3080ti, had their not been a supply chain shortage and a bunch of nerds becoming bitcoin guru's it would've only cost 12-1400 dollars. I stopped playing pc games once a flurry of new ps5 titles came out, so I've just been going through my backlog.

I'm still on an x99 processor and 32gb of ram, don't see the point in updating since this is still a relevant workstation and nothing out now besides a threadripper can support 40 pci lanes.

The Navi 33 (RDNA 3) is expected to carry 256 MB of Infinity Cache. Each GPU should also feature 2 memory connect links (32-bit).
That's a total of 4 32-bit memory controllers for a 128-bit bus interface. This would bring the performance of the AMD Radeon RX 7600 series above the RX 6800 and RX 6900 series at a TDP of around 200W.

I saw the ASUS 3090ti and I was very happy I did not let myself waste the money.



Earlier this month I upgraded from 7700k to 12900k. Still on a custom loop 1080ti that I've rocked the shit out of since 2017.


Today I received my 2nd 1080ti intending on tossing it in the 7700k build that I now moved to the bedroom. Will also be water cooled.

i delidded my 7700k and got that down by ~15-20c. massive decrease in heat. i'm sure the 12900k walks the 7700k. I upgraded to a 5900x a year ago.
