Paint cost for just aero kit?
Hey guys,
Im found two places that do painting for my navan aero kit and a spoiler. Front bumper is white so needs to get sanded down, rear valance is black so that will also need to be sanded down the rest are brand new. Im getting quotes around the 1200 to 1500, is that about average for a good paint job? Any help will be great. thanks |

Yea, just depends on how slow it is and if you can find a smaller shop that doesn't upcharge you because they have a super plush nice waiting area. I mean rear valances are small, shouldn't cost too much to paint those. Not sure the condition of the front bumper, but if it needs alot of work they might be charging you more for prep time. Places that were quoting me $1200-1500 I simply walked away. For $500 or a lil more and get the entire car resprayed.
*I forgot that you have a rear spoiler on your list. That will raise the price a lil.* |

I got a quote from 2 different shops earlier this year and they both wanted $700 with me doing all the prep work.
edit: That was front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper + valences, and a spoiler |

It really all depends on the amount of prep work that needs to be done to the vehicle and the quality and quantity of paint. I would ask the shop if they have any pictures or cars you can see that they have painted, to see how good their work is. Price will be forgotten way before quality of the paint job.

Depends on a few things
Your definition of 'good paint job' - single, two stage, metallic, etc the amount of prepping needed to be done the color you want and will the pieces be wet sanded, buffed and polished The price their quoting you is reasonable for a decent two stage job |

Thanks for the responses, all have been really helpful. I have a few more shops in mind before i make a decision. Seems like the quotes im getting so far are consistent based on the kind of work that needs to be put into prepping them and painting. I'll check maaco at south lake but kind of hit or miss with them seems like.

Its actually a ruby pearl color... so might not be perfect to match for any shop. I ended up going to maaco considering im not looking for a show quality paint job and based on the many great reviews of that particular location its worth a try i guess. Hope it comes out decent as I expect and last a few years cause most likely im going to see some track time anyway and paying 1500+ for a paint job seems a bit steep if its gonna get abused frequently. Will probably update this thread when i get it back.

Wanted to update this thread with my new painted navan kit. All done by a local maaco that had great reviews and so far im pretty dang happy with the job that was done. Only time will tell how much abuse it will take from daily driving.

No idea, it was a quote i got from the owner of that location he didnt specify which level of paint it was. He said base coat and 2 coats of clear so not sure where that falls under.
