KA single cam problome

Sup guys i have a little problome i just put a single cam on my bros 89 240 and at first it started but then it just died and now all it does is crank and back fires black smoke is it geting to much fuel or wat can it be i check spark fuel it has presssure oo and also wen it started the first time it was back fiering not back the tail pipe but out the intake wtk help plz

The engien was working wen i got it it started right up we just took it put of one and put it on my brothers

Well you should just go through all check, timing, firing order, good connections, fuses you just check simple things because if it was working fine and all you did was swap it in then precautionary checks are your best bet, but sometimes you never know.

im guessing you probably pulled the dizzy out and didnt get it back in, in the rite spot. Or when you pulled it you wrecked an injector. Also are you reusing "EVERYTHING" you pulled out of the donor car?

Hows the fuel pump in the donor car vs the car the motor is in. Too many variables for anyone online to diagnose.

Because the engine has a little connector device thats car specific and it wasnt disabled and it knows in not in the other car so its attempting to kill itself.

Wires cross in he engine bay causing the injector to stay open and flood out. shooting flames out the intake is never a good thing

Cus my brothers car was runing fine and the motor just gave out so everyting was working fine until i just put tis motor on it did this
