Yeah, well started off quite bad, cuz i slept through, when i was supposed to go to my friend's house and be there at 9 to put the electric fan on. Well i got there by 12am. We started setting everything up (made custom shroud, made the wiring run stocky style) and everything was fine untill we started up the car at about 5pm...

It started shaking, the same way it did sometimes before, except this time it never stopped. And the ecu threw a 66 code at us, which basicly meant "cyllinder 3 misfire". We pulled the 3rd cyllinder wire and it had no effect on the engine. So being optimistic as we are, we went to the auto parts store and got us a spark plug. Put that in, no effect. So not the sparks plug. played around a bit, checked the injector. Worked fine. About 7:30 in the evening, we finally got the compression gauge, hooked it up and figured out that there was no compression there what so ever. At that point all our optimistic hopes were DEAD.

After spending some time figuring out what the fuck could go wrong, we settled at 2 possible things. a. valves (could be easily fixed)or b. piston rings (very VERY bad). Well, we toyed around with the valve idea, but thought that if it were valves we would get at least some compression. And we never got anything. Later that day johnathan (civickilla) kinda confirmed that.

It seems to me that that shit was leaking for some time now. Since a. the engine used to shake while cold before sometimes and b. i noticed some power loss lately. I guess it was the time it decided to die.

Uhh for anyone who can help with any advice on how to take the engine apart trying to get there please post here

For all the others, i got 4 choices that i could right now do....
a. spend some time, and with some pain in the ass take it apart and replace the rings.
b. Uhh, get another KADE, swap it in and use this one to again take apart and rebuild, but at a slower pace now
c. Get forged pistons and rods and make a bulletproof N/A engine (since after all the money i spend i own't have enough for a turbo anymore).
d. Drive the escort till spring and get the sr engine.... that idea is fine except i really dont like it <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

So yeah, any comments, suggestions or pity... damnit <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
I never got to see the fan working and i guess the lsd that johnathan got me is gonna be lying around for a while now... shit this sux

Well you could drive it as is until spring and then get the sr. Also a blown ring would probably show some compression. Remove the valve cover and take a look, it could be a valve issue.
