The guy said he found out that all iron block ls motors will not allow fbody, gto, corvette, etc. accessories to bolt on to the motors because they are missing a hole that needs to be tapped and drilled. I looked into it and I did see one other forum where a guy mentioned the hole missing for a certain bracket and said EVERY aluminum block has the whole predrilled but not all iron ones do. Can anyone confirm this?

Also since everyone is using ls6 intake manifolds if anybody is selling an ls1 intake for next to nothing id buy it. It'll be suitable to get the car running and driving and right now there is one for $70 on ebay.

Any info is greatly appreciated. Just spent all night reading the entire forum only to realize a whole bunch is ka vs ls weight and ford vs chevy. Except for the last couple informative pages.
I believe you're talking about the alternator bracket holes. I remember i read it's fine with 2 out of the 3 bolts. But then again, it's not very hard to tap and drill a hole.

Alright thanks. So from what I've heard the Sikky swap kit and Fueled Racing Swap Kit are pricey, but bolt in, no modifications needed, swap kits. Has anyone ever used Hooker mounts and headers, and used gto oil pan with the swap?

For the truck steel blocks, at least the gen III, there are two holes missing for the alternator bracket that puts it low on the drivers side. I believe that would be gto, fbody, and cts accessories. One hole you can mount the bracket to the side bolt and lower front bolt and drill/tap the blockb using the bracket as a guide. This hole would be the outside hole on the front of the block. The second missing hole, would bolt closer to the balancer/water pump, is not present. You would run the alternator with 3 of the 4 bolts. I dunno if the same applies aluminum truck or gen IV steel blocks but the above would apply to most lm7,lq4, and lq9's.

Pretty pumped. I got my lm7 all stripped down. 241 heads are out getting valve jobs. Now for accessories. What would you guys recommend? I already heard of someone running ctsv accessories with ls3 waterpump and corvette balancer (not sure if ls1/ls6/ls3/ls7). I am assuming it all bolts in besides the alternator. That whole setup with a/c can be had for around $800. I'm not sure if there is any set being made cheaper. So I'm wondering what people are running and how close the accessories are to the radiator?

My 2nd question. My plans for the car are to daily in the summer, and hit the track a few times. So it's not hardcore drift car. So people in my situation what do you run for pcv? I'm thinking of getting the LS6 valley cover with the built in pcv and running catch can. But after all my reading it seems there is always a debate on whether or not to put a breather on the Oil Cap. Just wondering what people are doing and what works best.

Once again all info is appreciated!

I'm doing an lm7 as well. I'm doing my own harness as i type this. I'm going to be running fbody accessories. People that have done wiring. Pinks on ls1 harness i understand are ign on hot wires. Since the key ign has only one wire coming out for ignition did you guys run all pinks to a single ign relay? Or split them up.

For my swap im running the complete CTS-V acc drive with the LS3 pump and vette balancer. I would recommend the LS6 valley plate regardless of the motors use. The original valve cover PCV system will require a catch can at a minimum as almost every owner of 1st gen LS based motors have oil in the intake issues running that setup. The LS6 valley plate has a better PCV system period. Most still run a catch can too but alot of people get by just fine with the newer valley plate.

Im running a complete standalone harness that only needs a switched ignition source and fuel pump rewire. This harness only has two relays and 7 fuses for the motor. One relay for the fuel pump and one for switched ignition items. Google PSI conversion and look for the manul for harness 1013 it should have a diagram in the back of what the fuses are for and relay wiring etc.

Are there any factory headers that will work for a lq9 swap?

Have any of youse try matching it with cd009 transmission with the ls engine? They make adapter that fits in the bellhousing. I just wanna know how it goes since I already have a vq engine on my s14. Do you need a clutch bleeder kit like the t56 as far as using the cd0009 goes?

When I first started dismantling my VH swap I was in contact with the guy who made the lexus swap transmission adapters (Brett?) and he stated he was working on an adapter plate to fit up both nissan manuals (Z32/Z33). Figured the nissan manuals should be able to handle the torque and I'd be saving money. However after several months of its coming.....its coming....its coming..I said fuck it and went T56. He said he had the adapter plate designed for the bell housings but didnt have the flywheel and clutch figured out.

In the end, the T56's are $$$$$$ but they are really the best option as they are everywhere and bolt right up. Of course the TR6060 would work too but are newer and a bit more money.

There is a company that make the adapter for it. I don't know what's the turn around time. Isn't the cd0009 is a strong transmission as well? My goal is arnd 450 whp and nothing big. The t56 cost arnd 1600 used...

^^thought the name looked familiar, answered something similar on LS1. Its my understanding that the later gen (dont quote me but I believe 06+) CD009 had the stronger version of the the Z33 trans. The first gen was known for having terrible syncros but the later gen allegedly fixed the issue.

I seem to recall seeing a heater hose conversion block that allows the coolant to flow (b/c the LS is designed to have flow through the heater hoses at all times) back through the heater hoses when the nissan bypass valve for the core is closed. Now I can't seem to find it anywhere... anybody?

+1 for wiring specialties harness. im no mechanic but managed to wire my LS fine with their harness. daily driving for daily driving for 10 months now. no issues.

As for the alternator issue, I only run 2 bolts on mine. no problems. LQ9 block.

Question for you guys, what Heater Hose part # are you guys using to setup an LS1 into an S14 (95-96)? I have searched around for the answer but havent found anyone that notes which hoses and part numbers are used. I love what OneHundred did below but would like to avoid that expense unless I REALLY have to. Much appreciated...cheers.

BEas......appreciate it. The guy I bought the car from helped me figure it out. Now I just need to add some heat wrap and heat barrier material. These motors heat up the car pretty damn badly.

I just bought a s14 with LS1 swap. I'm starting to learn and educate myself on this motor and swap.

First order of business is an exhaust system! The headers got messed up by the previous owner. Anyone mind sharing what headers you have and whether you like them?

I'm on a budget like everyone else but I want to buy things to last

Anyone know if I can use the accessories that came stock on my ls3 motor? Motor is out of a 2010 camaro ss. I saw motor trends and speed academy's ls3 s13 and they used ctsv accessories.
