Exclamation Base T3/T4 Turbo for Low Boost/Power Ka-T Setup

I've been wanting to Turbo my Ka for the longest time (Don't let the name fool yo, I'm not Premie yet, and can't change my name) and was planning a basic T25 setup to make sure my Ka is capable for Tuboing, prior to doing a more extreme setup.

I came across a very nice Custom JGS Manifold for my Ka24De a while back, for a sick deal, and had to jump on it. It is a Top Mount, T3/T4 Flange, Extended Cylinder 1 & 4 Runners for quicker spool and External Wastegate Flange.

My question is: What would be a good Base Turbo with a T3/T4 Flange? By Base I mean a smaller Turbo for Low Power/PSI setup with T3/T4 Flange. On this setup, I'm not looking for over 200hp, and barely double digit boost settings. Just looking to be boosted and see if my Ka is good to expand upon.

All recommendations are welcome, please post. I am fond of Garrett personally; so if you are aware of one that may fit my needs, please post.

Thanks.

cheapest idea i can think of is just a T3 turbo from a z31 300zx, or possibly a saab or something. you can these cheap, have the same footprint as a t3 t4, and they actually are pretty great turbos anyway. you can surely go way over 200 hp with one.

Wow, that is really awesome to see that I can use that and be good to such a high level, Safely supported obviously, and have some room to play with, prior to coming close to maxing it out and having to upgrade, that seems to be the route ill take.

Would you suggest checking the 300zx forums for the turbo?

Does anyone know the turbo's spex?

What would I be looking at paying for this bad boy?

Thanks for the help so far

i bought my water cooled T3 with stock internal wastegate attached to a jordan gladman manifold, along with JGS oil line and welded on downpipe with bungs for stock and wideband, for i think 400. mighta been 440 though.

you can get the turbos by themselves for really cheap though, sometimes under 100. you just have to look around. i even see them in the junkyards occasionally, but going that route will probly land you needing a rebuild. just check for shaft play before you buy.... now throw up that green, son

Check out a Gt30 turbo or a used GT32 turbo. If your on a budget look on ebay for a Holset H1C you can pick those up for like 300 bucks in good condition and make tons of power at really low boost. You say now that you will be happy with 200 rwhp but in the end you will always want more power.

NorcalBlack, keep in mind I am only looking for this setup to verify my Ka is good for Bossting. If the engines holding strong, which I'm almost positivie it is, I plan a nice rebuild later on and upgrade wanting 350whp, but that's a ways away, and actually the items I'm loooking at plus, proper tune, I may surpass 350, but like I said that's a ways away and we will see.
