I’ve realized recently that I feel too old to drive a 240 or an 86/brz.

Doesn’t help all my neighbors (in my new neighbors) had an i8, Masarati GT Vert, C7 Z06, and an M5.

But also I’m probably 10 years younger than almost all of them.

nothing wrong with driving a 240sx at our age. just build it right, clean and classic.

hell, i run a full 3 inch exhaust that emits ZERO drone in the cabin during cruising speeds and doesnt rattle and clatter like an almost 30 year old driftslut usually would. but then again, my S13 has been built AND restored. not just made into a hollowed out tin can with blast pipes and zero interior. not hating, just saying theres a huge difference!

park the 240 in storage for 10 years and pull it back out when it's a classic. ditch the brz and get something more keeping-up-with-the-jones-y *cough* soulless

i'm in my 40s and would definitely not replace my more stock looking 240 with a bmw camry w/ douchey exhaust or some generic crossover. drove a friends mercedes amg c43 recently and found it to be more of an appliance than engaging car.

I like the 86 but if you are more image conscious then just get a miata over the 86. Lots of old farts are into the miata and I think their more 'upscale' approach works well with the ND. might translate into cheaper insurance too.

I will say old age has made me less patient to modify a car a lot more and the hassles that go with it. Not likely ever to get another engine swap and I would rather pay more upfront for a stock car that I'm happy with from the get go with some suspension and cooling mods. Oh and for some reason loud exhausts around where I live really piss me off now. At track events no problem at all.
