In case some of you guys care, HKS is confirming that they will have their 180SX drag car (with RB26DETT engine) on display.  This is confirmed, pending any conflicts with major drag races in SoCal (which I don't see in the scheduling of LACR and Pomona).

Sounds like a whole bunch of fun.... I'll check my schedule, I'll probably be able to go... assuming I get my car in a week or 2 and I finish all the suspension mods by then (which i should).

I'll be driving down there from the SF Bay Area and I don't have a second set of wheels/tires for the track. I was just thinking I'm gonna have to drive the car back up to the bay area, and I might not want to do that with worn out tires. Would you recommend that I, and others in the same situation, don't run my car on the track?

There's no need to run another set of track wheels/tires if you aren't going to go all-out on the track.  Whatever you have on your car now would be more than enough for your track runs.

This is willl be an awesome event, which i really wanna to go.. but all my friends either drive Honda or Bimmer. i really don't have frds that like 240 as much as i do .. n i really wanna get to know more ppl that are from LA and gonna go to the event so maybe we can all meet up  and cruise down there together.. There is a good possibility that I might be able to get Mr. Shinjiro Yukawa to be at the event.

In case you don't know who he is, he is the Chief Product Specialist for Nissan, on the Silvia chassis. He is basically considered the modern father of the Silvia (and 180SX, to a certain extent).

We're also working on getting the president of Nissan Motorsports International (Nismo) to show up...

The 2002 GT-R owner's meet will be at this event, so expect no less than 10-12 GT-R's.

One note about convention:

If you are planning on participating in the track event, but are unsure of your current plans (whether it be funds, or scheduling, or both, or other reasons), I still high recommend you register for convention ASAP regardless of whether or not you can afford the track event portion.

I say this because the space for the track event is very limited, and once May 31st passes SpeedTrial will open the remaining spaces to everyone to register. I can "hold" the space for you if you register, but you are only confirmed for the spot when you pay your track fee in full.

So far, the breakdown of the run groups is as followed:

Advanced - 2
Intermediate A - 8
Intermediate B - 7
Beginner - 15

There will be a max of 25 per run group, NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

If you have any Q's about the event, don't hesitate to ask!

this to be one of the largest 240SX events, ever.

Tommy @ Speedtrial has given me until the end of the month to preregister
any one for the track event.  After May 31st, the remaining spaces will be
open to other groups on his priority waiting list (starting with SoCal DSM
Club/Road Race Engineering).

I am still looking for people to be leads of various caravans from different
parts of the country.  So far Doug Schmidt has agreed to set up a last-leg
caravan from Las Vegas on down.

Register before the deadline or else the price will go up!  Don't miss out!

No caravans from Torrance will be organized because it is just too damn close to the event in terms of distance...  Plus, I'm certainly not going to organize any caravans b/c of the bad experiences (read: MANY OF THEM) I've had with people screwing around in caravans.

In case you don't know who he is, he is the Chief Product Specialist for Nissan, on the Silvia chassis. He is basically considered the modern father of the Silvia (and 180SX, to a certain extent). We're also working on getting the president of Nissan Motorsports International (Nismo) to show up... I say this because the space for the track event is very limited, and once May 31st passes SpeedTrial will open the remaining spaces to everyone to register. I can "hold" the space for you if you register, but you are only confirmed for the spot when you pay your track fee in full. So far, the breakdown of the run groups is as followed: Advanced - 2 Intermediate A - 8 Intermediate B - 7 Beginner - 15 There will be a max of 25 per run group, NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
