sr swap gague cluster issue stumped and annoyed

i just got my sr running in my 89 sohc, can runs and drives perfectly and am very satisfied with it. only problem is the gague cluster doesnt do anything, i know my sohc cluster wont work so i got a sr cluster and when i plug that in nothing works except the gas level and clock, no rpm, no speed, and no water temp. i checked all connections and everything is perfect and everything is plugged in. i checked to see if i was getting a signal from the ecu and got nothing, i also tryed my sohc cluster and the temperature worked on that cluster but no speed and obv no rpm. im completly stumped and ive been searching for hours to try and figure it out and cant seem to find any answers. im using a sr speed sensor at the moment but i tryed my sohc sensor and still got the same results. i also tryed putting the sr tach in the sohc cluster and got nothing. any help will be greatly appreciated
