Got some more parts in, should get more tommorow as well. Im hoping this whole car comes together in the next few weeks as im very anxious to drive it again.

Exchanged my steel driveshaft with mazworx for an aluminum one

Got some fittings and hoses for the crank evac and powersteering cooler

Some misc brackets and pulleys from powder coating ( matte black )

Got the valve covers too, done in wrinkle black this time, red is getting played out

Thumbs up

hey i love the wrinkle finish valve covers, i think i'm gonna bite that. srry.

the throttle response and power in your car must be amazing for drifting. vh is definately a cool motor, i like it in my q45, but hate the factory gearing (and vlsd for that matter). 60mph in first? 100 in 2nd? weak....

Maybe you missed it the first time, but what final drive are you using? Seems like it would benefit from 3.69 gears.

Aw cute. listen dipshit, last time I checked when people modified cars, MPG wasn't at the top of the list.

when my friend bought a 1966 Fury, MPG wasn't a concern.

when I bought and modded my 1972 beetle, MPG wasn't a concern.

all I'm saying is, if you want MPG, the way top get the most is to leave the fucking car alone.

i realize with gas prices, its a bit more of a factor. I just think its funny how people are worried about it but yet they still crank up the boost and throw V8s in cars.

and don't give me that condescending think before you post shit, I was mostly joking.

so in short, I was joking, go fuck yourself.

all I'm saying is fuel economy is an important factor and people shouldn't be abused because they asked the question.

Hey, the guy asked a question. I gave him an answer. If you don't want to answer then leave him alone.

No need to insult or belittle people if you don't like what they're doing.

I personally don't care about fuel economy either way, but he wanted info so I gave it to him. No need to be mean about it.

Fuel economy is probably not the top concern if you're swapping engine, but after response, power, reliability, sound, looks, and cost, fuel economy probably comes next. I'm just guessing.

Between all the bickering, moaning, and idiot fucks asking the same stupid questions that were already answered in the last build thread, you guys have ruined this new one. It's like you all just found the internet yesterday.

Quit the pissing, shut up, and appreciate the car and it's build.

Are you using the same type of hose for both the breather and ps? Will you post a link to the ps hose that you are using, it looks good and flexible.

Please be nice.

I talked to a Nissan factory technician about fuel economy. He informs me that the engine is the most efficient at torque peak, and therefore would yield the best fuel economy if cruised at torque peak RPM.

My V8 has a flat torque curve. I cruise at 1,500 RPM. Small displacement engines doesn't have enough torque to cruise at 1,500 RPM so they need a higher cruising RPM.

The problem is that V8 tends to come in heavier car. So V8 has a bad rep for getting bad fuel economy.

If you took a light car, and compare a V8 to say a KA-T, the V8 would get mid to high 20s, whereas the KA would struggle to get high 20s, and any acceleration at all would knock it back down to low 20s.

Keep in mind this is not theoretical. I compare my V8 to his KA-T. Granted I have carbs so I'm only getting low to mid 20s, but think of LS-series that get mid to high 20s on the highway. Now drop the weight by 500 lbs and I think you can break into 30s.
BSFC(brake specific fuel consumption) rarely happens around peak torque because it has a variety of factors that affect it(friction, pumping losses, manifold/port harmonics etc). It's typically at a lower RPM than peak torque on modern engines. Sometimes much much lower.
