I'll be in Tokyo from June 16th until July 14th and I'd really like to get some nice videos and pictures.
I'll be in Arakawa, but this is my first time visiting, so I'm not sure how well I'll be able to get around.

Where exactly are you staying in Arakawa? Its a big ward with many train stations. What station is it?

You probably should mention Tokyo, Arakawa-ku or Arakawa Ward.

Its a nicer place and close to almost any where in Tokyo---probably 30mins by train from most of the major stations (active centers or crowded places or party towns) in Tokyo.

My apartment is right by Nippori station, so I'm pretty much on the Yamanote

What do I like to do...
Hmm... Well seeing as my town really doesn't have much of anything that's teen oriented, I really don't know what I like to do. I'm pretty much up for anything... I want to visit some shrines/temples, go to amusement parks, clubs (if I'm old enough), movies, I'll probably do some clothes shopping while I'm there, and I'll most definitely visit Akihabara, I'd like to get some pics/videos of some drifting action, but probably won't happen this go around. And I'd really like to go to the beach (not sure if that will happen either)

Ueno park, shinjuku, tsukiji (sushi dai), tokyo midtown, rappongi (wall street bars if you dunno english), tokyo station, go to shinonome station on odaiba and super autobacs biggest in japan is there, next station is disneyland after that, Odaiba I love you see rainbow bridge and sega megaweb read initial d with moving half cut body cars, yokohama is always nice, visit mines in yokosuka which is near yokohama, akhihabra station for otaku anime stuff, and then the biggest temple in japan is in asakusa....

In the end pick up a lonely planet or any type tokyo traveling book.... Most of the places above I mentioned you dun need to know japanese....

Yeah, I plan on going to Disney this go around, it will probably be Universal in Osaka next time. But I'm also going to rainbow bridge and Akiba. Are you talking about Sensouji?
If so, I got that on my checklist too ;P

bring alot of money! the yen rates kind of low. drift tengoku mag has a drift day track schedule in there if you want to catch some drifting. try all kinds of different foods too! its amazing.

Yeah, I'll have about $200 after my rent for food and stuff... but I'm graduating tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be getting some more money, I'll be sure to get a copy (or few haha) of Drift Tengoku... you can probably just pick them up in 7/11, right? (or other convenience stores)

A bank or currencey exchange if you in the city.

Airports suck for conversion. 7-11 doesn't convert money (not around here at least). 7-11 does usually have international/ameriacan friendly atms. Most of the to other conveniance stores atms don't work w/ our cards.

Any idea on the charges that I would incur? I've already notified my card company that I will be there, so no big deal. I also got some cash out just in case.

Fees, that all depends on your bank. I believe theres like a 200Y charge at the atm too but i can't remember for sure

Well I'm here, I got poured on by a little mini-storm as I was getting off the train, saw about 4 silvias, 3 skylines and a sick ass S2000 on the train ride to my apartment. (of which has a rather funny smell)

Not sure what I'll do now, probably get a shower, change clothes and walk down to 7/11 for dinner

Checking out an upgarage should be on your to do list, you can find their addresses on the upgarage website or if you don't know your Nihongo this is a nice map : Trip to Japan for the Automotive Enthusiast - Google Maps
Best upgarage I've been to is the one in higashimurayama city, lot's of nice cars parked outside most of the time, wheels on the first floor and loads of parts on the second floor.

The one close to minamimachida station is actually for bikes but is very close to tomei and bee*r, if you walk down the street you'll also see a used car dealership that specializes in retro cars (modified hakosuka's and other skylines, ae86's, old z-cars etc) very nice place to see some cool cars. Bee*r has a few huge slotrace tracks in it's building with lot's of car memorabilia, their drift cars are also usually parked there in plain view.
