Hey.
I have a 1996 Nissan 240sx SE, and in the Tires post I mentioned that I had a bad alignment. My car pulls to the right, and the tires are worn to the bottom of the tread on ONLY the inside inch or so. The rest of the tire is untouched. These tires have less than 4,000 miles on them, and are Bridgestone Potenza Pole Position OS-2's. I took it to a shop and they put it on a "really expensive machine." My car's camber is -1.6 degrees in the fronts and -1.8 driver's side rear and -2.4 passenger's side rear. The manuals say that -1.9 degrees is within limits. Clearly by looking at the tires, there is about -5 degrees camber. This is proved by my car-illiterate girlfriend said "your tires are crooked." The shop owner agreed with her, and said they look -5 degrees or more. But his brand new machine said they were within specs. I asked him if my suspension was shot. He said no. I asked him if my bearings were shot. No again. I asked him if my frame was crooked. His laser frame measuring machine said it was .02%. Average is .2% Once again, NOT THE PROBLEM! I don't know what else it could be. ALL 4 tires are leaning horribly. Has this happened to any other 240sx owners? Anyone have an idea to what it is? Thanks, Jeff |

Hmm... so, yeah... is anyone at least thinking I could be out a drivable car? That's my main concern if a second shop says the same thing. I can't afford putting on z-rated tires every 2 months. I gotta save for a SR20.

i agree with gt7152b i used to ado 4 wheel alignments in college and if the tire has visable negative camber then the machine is wrong no matter what the shop owner says and since you said the machine was brand new theres a possibility that the dork didnt even calibrate it yet
