the illest hardparking you've ever seen.
unless you're planning on running the softest compound tires mankind has ever seen, and only drive on roads smooooooooth as glass, there is no reason for those rates (other than hellaillestflushness ) |

Assuming its a s13 chassis?
I did the s14 subframe swap also. Use s13 sway bars. The fronts are different. Rear bars are the same. I've used suspension techniques on 3 cars. There isn't better bars for the money. |

Any other expierences here? Ive seen people not runnig the rear bar to increase over steer?
I dont understand how spring rates determine sway bar effectiveness though. |

A sway bar essentially adds spring rate in roll. Your car is way oversprung already, I can't imagine making it even stiffer.
You'd better be running like 335 Hoosier A7s or something, or Avons. |

you have two choices : 1. Do it right and have those springs replaced and re-valve the shocks 2. Don't run sway bar if you're on a really tight budget: springs do not cost that much.. Also generally, having no rear bar will make the car under-steer not over-steer. Regardless, have fun at the track and be safe! |

I've run largus sway bars in the past and they were excellent, I currently have tanabes and they're nice too. to be honest, unless you're switching from one to the next, back to back, 90% of users won't know the difference. if there are different holes on the end of the sway bar for adjustment, you will notice the difference going from one setting to the next. |

Would running no sway bars for a few weeks be a bad idea or would it really just be a preference thing more than a safety thing?
Thanks for all responses to btw |

if you're going to a track event, and are unfamiliar with how the car will handle with no sway bars, i would advise EXTREME CAUTION. handling characteristics will be markedly different with no sway bars |

I was running with 9/7K and no rear swaybar, front was a 29mm godspeed.
Then one day, i noticed a droplink had failed. I did not even feel it. Since then i binned the front bar too. With 18/16k the car does probably not have more than 5mm of suspension travel, sway bars are useless. If you wanted a swaybar that would go with these springs, you'd probably end up with a solid 40mm bar, if not bigger... Basically on the s13, if you are running heavy aero (diffuser, canards, splitter, flat bottom, huge rear wing), you'd want around 12/10. No aero, 10/8 is good. As far as sway bar goes, it ends up being driver's preference. I like no sway bar in the rear, it gives me better traction with the torsen. But i might end up adding one back to the front. best bet once you are back on softter spings is to try whatever bars you have and see what you like best. |
