My rb25det neo goes into limp mode when it warms up

Hi all I have a s13 with a Rb25det neo r34 stock ecu all stock everything I just have a manual boost controller set at 7psi fmic walbro 255, stock rb fpr, and no tune yet. My problem is that when my car warms up it boils the coolant in my overflow, and about 10 min after it is boiling it'll go into limp mode. Why could my engine be getting so hot? Head gasket? I don't have a compression tester. My coolant is a brownish color also but it's water that's in it. I have a 1.5 gallon gas can as my overflow temporarily, because my curvuit sports one is on it's way. I just feel like if this big ass gas can is boiling then there's something wrong

Tell us more about your radiator/fan setup. You may have air in your cooling system also, preventing circulation. Overheating your engine is not a good thing.

do a coolant flush, your coolant passage maybe clogged.

my rb20 was a pita to bleed/maintain good temperature until i got all the brown crap out of the block

Temp sensor issue?

I don't know if this is fact, but it seems if the ecu temp sensor isn't working properly then the ECU will think it's overheating and put itself in limp mode?

Just a thought.

Also, flush the shit out of you coolant. Brown es no bueno. Does Vato Zone still rent compression testers? I'd check on that before you go chasing ghosts in the engine bay.
