s13 s13 interior tune up

hey zilvia! just joined the forum and also got my manual s13 friday as my first car. so far so good, but i don't like the tan interior and have seen a couple conversions to black which i would like, but i wouldn't know where to get started or what to use. on some thread SEM Landau Black was suggested but a few concerns of mine:
  • my car has oem gold paint, would black interior look good with that paint?
  • would the dash end badly if it is cracked and i spray paint it?
  • how could i get the carpet/non-plastic parts black and what with?
  • can i get new carpets easily(my carpet has a 3in. tear)
  • is changing the carpets, painting/dying? everything else pretty easy?
  • where could i go for extra help in removing interior parts such as the dash?

on a side note, i wanted to know how you can add a signature to your profile, and if the digital dashboard clock doesn't keep the time with everyone.

ty for you time, hopefully these forums/my friends who are experienced can help me learn how to mess with my car

ty both of you. i saw some people who did clean jobs spraypainting, but i guess i'll stay away. would a dash coverlay fit cleanly over my original dash? it would look weird if the brown stuck out

Dont buy a dash coverlay, you can buy a used uncracked dash on here for a lot cheaper.

I've seen a gold car with black interior, I think it looks good. I've done a brown to black swap in my car. The best thing to do is buy black panels, carpet, and dash and swap everything out. The most annoying thing about it is the fact that nissan made little things like weatherstripping brown too.

First of all, why are you asking people what you should do with YOUR car.

Secondly, you would need to REMOVE every panel in your car to paint it. If you want to mickey mouse that shit then keep everything and mask it off which is 2x more work.

Yes, you can get carpets very easily. Base model/SE model/ LE model same shit. Go on google and SEARCH. Stockinteriors.com

And since you're a noob, read up. Visualize yourself going through the steps if you have to. For the interior, you don't really need to be mechanically inclined. Just patient and knowledgeable of how to put shit in and take shit out.

Paying people to do jobs for you is a sad way to lose money. If you want it done right, you've got to learn yourself and do that shit yourself.

Maybe a 240 was not the best choice for you. How can you learn if you're not even willing to put in half the effort into modding your car.

I personally think coverlays are awsome, its definetely on my list. Why pay for a used dash that is just as old and likely to crack soon. I have a buddy who spray painted his headliner and other panels using interior paint and they came out pretty decent.

OP, dont spray paint anything, black interior pieces are a dime a dozen, i have a black interior in my gold S13 coupe and it looks good to me, way better than the damn dookie brown interior, you'll need S14 seats because i havent seen and dont think S13's ever came with black seats
