well my friends and i just finished doing a frankenstien swap into one of his CRXs, really nice. took a while but i think its worth it. its a HF [lowest trim] bottom with a Si sohc vtec head. no drill required haha. the car ran 15.5 before the swap was done, we gonna test it out again this sunday and see how the new swap will do, hope it does better!

uh...the sohc vtec for honda is not the same as the dohc vtec at all. sohc vtec is designed for fuel economy and emissions...while dohc vtec sends fuel economy to hell to give high end torque. i will explain it further, but i think you get the idea

well having oil leaks and such is only for those crazy LS/Vtec and CR-Vtec frankenstien swaps. they leak becuz they need to have new oil lines drilled and dats where the leaking begins, but with SOHC bottom/heads there is no need to drill anythign at all, they bolt right on

of course ill post up the numbers of that monster, the kool part about the swap is. it looks stock, but it really isnt.

and dont worry we dont street race

Ahhhh, CRX, SchmeeRX! My 81 Accord will eat if for lunch! That 72 hp really gets it going. Seriously, glad to see there are more Nissan enthusiasts willing to fiddle in the dark side. I'm sure the CRX corners better than the 81 Accord, and it corners great. (Corners even better since I filled up the 10 psi right front tire. Hehe.) Hondas are really quite fun to play with. Especially cheap Hondas. You guys aren't near AZ, are you? I'd be curious to check out the CRX.

nah, we are in Cali. Love to show ya, but juss too far.

the coolest part about this all is, the engine looks completely stock. looks like the original, pop the hood and they wont ever know until they run it.

Sorry have not been to zilvia in a while so I missed this post. My roommate also just did this swap in a 91 Civic HB(EF9). Very impressed with the performance. Having a issue w/ the idle control valve but as soon as that gets fixed it will be run hard. He is running the D16 lower end with the SOHC vtec head btw.
He is also doing a custom turbo on it so if your interested let me know. Right now he has a HF header, custom plate for the header to turbo which is out a 88 new yorker(couple bloody knuckles to get that out), and audi intercooler. He has a spare 88 si engine for this project so its not going on the frankenstien.

Edit - currently being run w/o vtec.
