Base =/= top

I was asking because without bendinging the 30* bends in further it's a bitch to weld fully around the base with one side jammed up agains the sheet metal. Also makes welding door bars a bitch.

I thought the same thing when I saw the mounts. Especially with the vibrations occurring.

Anyone encourage or discourage those ISIS control arms that are on sale as a package right now?
Atutt?

I know there have been a few versions of them already and a few horror stories regarding the welds, but only a few out of all the people that have bought and used them.

How did I get called into the equation? lol

Ummmm... Since I have the tools and abilities to make them myself, I would make them over buy them so I can't really say anything on the ISIS stuff.

I'm not one to buy parts. I'd rather make my own. Plus I don't really trust anyone else's welds but my own (Yes I know that's a little conceited)

Looks like nice fab work buuuutttt all that porosity and burn through doesnt help your flow either, and looks like hell. You ever heard of running some argon purge? cork each end with a .25in hole for purge entrance and exit, run the argon at 20cfm and the inside will look just as tits as the outside...

well what happens with china rod ends is that they seize up and once they lock up, with your constant movement back and forth, it just snaps and brakes, similar to bending a piece of metal back and forth. so the load is on the rod ends( correct me if im wrong) i had bought some use rear camber arms for 20 bucks, paid 45 for the pair of aurora metric rod ends and im golden now!

Chronic metal fatigue. Like you were saying...Bend a paperclip back and forth until it breaks. It is why airplanes are retired after so many hours. They must be or they have to be completely rebuilt.

Also a reason why their bodies are riveted together instead of welded. Welds don't work too great under heavy vibrations.

Finally finished. I must say some of the runner to collector welds were some of the most awkward I've had to do. The head flange welds aren't the prettiest since I was using 1 1/4'' pipe in 1 1/2'' recesses, the puddle always wanted to run out on me.

Just posting a pic of my new toy. Miller 211 such a amazing machine one of the best welders i have used in a long time. Went through the spool of wire it came with and only owned it for 3 days. So i went and bought a 11lb spool of .30 and a bunch of other stuff. Been building a cart for it for the last 2 days. lol

$1300 out the door with tank.
