s13 Start up Problems single cam

So i have trouble starting up my s13 ka. it will crank and try to start but it wont turn over untill a few good attempts. after that i have to play with the peddle to keep her running. but after about 30seconds to a minute shell idle fine. im looking for some opinions as to what it might be causing this. i have tried to adjust the idle and it worked but but no help with start up, only after shes a little warmed up. im just trying to get it to the point that it will start up easier. and idle good from there. i just recently got this car so im trying to delay tearing it all apart.
