240sx r154 transmission question

Okay so I have a 240sx with a 1jz and r154 transmission and I've had some grinding between 2nd and 3rd gear, thinking she just needed a tranny oil change when i jacked her up ( Im not at all familiar with a 1jz or r154, I just bought it so don't crucify me) and it seems like something is missing, like around where the fly wheel is there suppose to be a cover?

There are actually covers you can get for those inspection holes. Not sure on part numbers for the r154 covers but these are my v160 covers that I bent and cut a little bit and bolted on to my r154.

You are missing a dust cover for sure. My suggestions are changing the oil to redline if it isn't already. Next is to bleed the clutch and check the slave cylinder is moving the correct distance. if this doesn't work syncros are probably done for check out Marlin Crawler.
