Fuel pump fails after it rains, 3 times this year.

Hey guys,

Every time it seems to rain here in so cal my fuel pump fails. I dont know if its a coincidence or what. I checked online and found a few tutorials on checking the pump wiring and everything seemed ok, but I am having trouble finding where the fuel pump is grounded at.

Everytime it rains my car will run for a day or two and then the fuel pump would stop working. Ive already changed it 3 times this year. This last time I changed its only been a few weeks - then it rained - then it stopped working.

I do have a trunk leak and water accumulates in the spare tire but it appears that no water reaches the fuel pump harness.

anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening?

I would say check the wiring too it, seems like somewhere it is grounding out when it rains. Also check how much power goes to the fuel pump and for how long because if it is continuously making the fuel pump prime then it will just end up dieing and will leave you with where you are.
