Trans won't go into gear when car is on

Ok so I just finished my 1uz swap except for 1 thing I can't seem to get the car into gear when the motor is running. I replaced the master cylinder and slave thinking it was that I don't have a clutch dampener and replaced the hardline with a steel braided.

Problem: Basically after I bleed the clutch the, clutch pedal is firm to push down but won't come up by itself, as well I can't get the car into gear while its running, I have a extended throwout specific for this application.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Yes of course, starter engages and motor runs. It just seems like the clutch disc is stuck? could it possibly be from my pressure plate being to tight? pretty sure i torqued it to spec

You could push start the car and see if something explodes.

The clutch disc isn't backwards? So when you try to go into gear while running it grinds?

It shouldn't be on backwards! The splines were kind of messed up on my clutch disc maybe that's my issue

What type of pressure plate are you usiing? And how did you install the engine to transmission?

If you have a pressure plate with the fingers that wrap around the spring mechanism, they can get broken off when the input shaft slides up the pressure plate during an in car assembly. That small piece get lodged in back of the disc, which doesn't let the clutch disengage.

You can avoid this by taking you time and rotating the crank pulley while lower the engine into place, or mate the transmission and engine together on the ground then install.

This scenario requires removing the engine from the trans again to look at the pp and remove the broken pieces.

You should probably do this anyway even if it's not a broken pp finger. Could be a failed spring or whatever.
