What do yall use as chairs? I want a chair but I am hesitant to buy a "game" chair. I like the way they look admittedly but I feel they are over priced for what they are. Even the $114-150 ones.

definitely going to rock a 1080ti until it dies. which shouldn't be any time soon. When I first OC'd this card to the max, was when the 20xx cards were released and flooded the benchmark leaderboards. Still managed to stay inside of the top 100 on superposition, while watercooled.
I'd love to pick up a 2nd one for absolutely no reason.

Nope. My guess is at computex. I really want to see what Nvidia has in store this year. I expect the 5900XT to compete with the 2080ti which would be behind a 3080ti.

Thats what I was afraid of. No resoectable desktop gpus any earlier than second half of ‘20 at best. maybe more likely in ‘21. The lack of competition for gpus is beyond fristrating.

^^ Agreed. I think it would be $50-$100 less than the 2080ti since lately AMD has been slightly undercutting Nvidias cards.

I wish he'd lose the midlife crisis leather jackets and gloat less but not really worried gpus are going to be redundant anytime soon.
for the sake of competition I hope Nvidia and Amd both do well. |

You mean it's likely they'll be announced in March 2020. Article still mentions second half 2020 release date, but nothing concrete as far as big Navi. To me that's still a projection and delays are not out of the question. Bit frustrated there's not more details committed. Still glad things are moving forward.
Q: Lisa, can you give us some idea of what new GPUs you’re expected to launch to the rest of 2020, for PCs and for data center? LS: Yes. In 2019, we launched our new architecture in GPUs, it’s the RDNA architecture, and that was the Navi based products. You should expect that those will be refreshed in 2020 – and we’ll have a next generation RDNA architecture that will be part of our 2020 lineup. So we’re pretty excited about that, and we’ll talk more about that at our financial analyst day. On the data center GPU side, you should also expect that we’ll have some new products in the second half of this year. |

This is pretty much expected. Every hear its rumors and tidibits until the launch at computex.
I still predict amd will launch a 2080ti competitor only to get out classed by Nvidia's new cards.

I would be totally okay with it not being up to par with the 3080ti so long as it being a stronger value. could totally do without any gimmicky ray tracing bs. maybe something slotted in betweem and under $ 1k

It is very subtle imo and with action around I am not exactly pay attention to the subtle details. I want the 3080ti to push us closer to 1440P 144hz with current titles and cost $700.

That’d be a great deal. I’ll be happy being able to upgrade my 1080ti to something I can play current games in 3440 above 60fps for the next 2-3 years. Thats where the 1080ti has been showing its age.

Oh yea. 4k is still a monster. At 1440p some of the newer games getting barely 90 stable though that also could be a cpu limitation for me. I can't imagine 4k.
What is the frametime like on the heavier titles?

im using 1440x3440 ultrawide monitor so not quite 4k. On Kingdome Come, ultra settings I have gotten under 10fps during some cutscenes. Total war warhammer I was getting around 35-40 fps. so 1080ti is starting to show its age.
usually I wait a year or two for aaa titles to go on sale before picking them up, so no idea how well 1080ti works for today's titles. If I were staying with a regular 1440p, the 1080ti would still be really good, but hard to go back from ultrawide resolution. |
