Car looks nice so far tough!
ive messed with a few vq's and def not trying to be a dick but please show me a vq that out performs a 2j.. there are very few. 2j's are very reliable. and for what he already has, as well as his mechanical skills, im sure he will do very well.
i dont see him spending over 10g and thats on the very high side.(aem, tweak wiring harness, and other goodies)

i went ahead and made this for you. just incase you do want it.

i really 100% dissagree with you...i have over 17g in my VQ and i just made 450wheel...the 2j is a FAR more capable motor then the VQ! with 10 grand i will have a swapped single turbo 2j that makes well over 500hp with out hardly even touching it...

Cool build! We're designing a turbokit for the 350z (VQ engine) and during design I always felt the bay space would fill nicely with a straight six! It definitely does..

the VQ leaves you with like no room for a turbo to sit except beside the trans...but then if you run a GT35 or somehting bigger, you have to worry about it being too low...such a pain!
