Why a not ban candy and fast food?

Why not ban alcohol (drunk driving)?

All these actions will save lives.

The other things different from covid in one major way.

If there was a mandatory mask mandate (which was the original topic of discussion) for public gatherings, the chances of them catching the virus would have been dramatically lower. Likely preventing some if not all of these deaths.
