next best thing to clutch type LSD
lookin for a new LSD
had a VLSD but then something was wrong with it and now i have open looking for a good type LSD but nothing TOO extreme like a clutch type 2 way LSD or anything because it will be mostly on daily driving but i dont want another VLSD because it does take a bit long to lock lookin for something that locks faster in basically..lookin for something between VLSD and clutch type LSD..mostly going to be used for drag racing..road racing..mountain runs...drifting and mayb some autoX VLSD -> what im lookin for -> clutch type LSD |

So you don't want a clutch type because its more maintenance and makes noise...Correct?

no i dont think u see my point
maintenance..i do not mind i already keep my car top notch condition makes noise? that i dont care my car already makes all sorts of weird noises i do not want a clutch type lsd [ex: kaaz 2way, cusco 2way etc etc] becuz i BELIEVE i do not need to spend up to 1000 for a LSD that will lock most of the time when all im doing is parking my car in the skool lot. i only spend about 20% or even LESS on a track, no need to spend that much money on an LSD when it wont be used much i am asking the people what i should go for, not be questioned because i dont like noise or too lazy to take care of it or because of the price. if i can afford a very expensive conversion i can afford an LSD i just see no point in spending so much for a LSD unit when it wont be used so much please post something constructive...not an attack, i just dont see wat ur getting at by posting that or the one above |

no one is attacking you they're just trying to figure out why you dont want the best LSD available.
get HLSD. available on S15's? i think. it'll cosr you a handful though. you may just end up changing your mind about the clutch type

I know what you're getting at, but the problem is, most LSDs are about the same price range anyhow.

quiafe, from what I've read about it its the best or only LSD your going to find for the middle ground your looking for, clutch types are to much like possie trac. but at the same time if you have the proper set up clutch type can be one of the best for drag and drift and they wont get one wheel burnout's like the quiafe and vlsd, if your more into grip and you have money go with the quiafe, if not go back to a vlsd and maintain it well and maybe the cheapest

ive never really heard anything good or bad about the phantom grip, a lot of bullshitting, but no real pros/cons to the unit...
basically my question is, does it actually work? how long does it last? what will/wont it do? didnt mean to hijack the thread, just trying to get some info... -glen

The only LSD that works good and doesn't have a clutch, is a torsen they were in FD3S RX-7's they work well and last a really long time
