What you're describing sounds like a skid plate. Is there one similar to it on the other side of the car and in the middle kinda guarding your oil pan?

My car's missing the skid plate on the driver's side--looks like part of a possible previous owner's aftermarket intake setup (except it looks like the resonator box is still there and the stock intake is all there except for a few missing bolts). I'm not looking at replacing mine because I'm planning on getting the Injen w/ CAE, so I'm not worried about it.

Yup, it's a splash guard. Take it to a shop and they'll fix it for 12 dollars. I had mine come off partly when I passed a guy at 70 mph. It started flapping in the breeze and I thought I really screwed something up, but it just turned out to be that thing.
You definately wanna get it replaced. |

While on this subject, I suggest everyone go check theirs to make sure it's on tight and not ripped anyplace. When that thing tears itself free at 90mph, it's f'n scary! I'm serious. Go check this now. =)

I thought I was the innocent bystander in a drive-by. I thought I was gonna die. It was scary!! (Useless info, but funny in hindsight.) -Jeff |
